FWIW that bunk to bed slide is the same as our 35J Class A. on ours the bathroom door opens, just not all the way. but certainly enough to get in and out of wiht the slide in. There are solidish doors (not those crappy bifold things) between us adn the kids. Privacy but not noise privacy...

I agree tho that the weight of a 31' C on a 14050GVW frame is too far to the max for my comfort. My rear axle weighs in at 12000#. Mind you that is with 75Gallons fresh water full or ~622#.

Nice use of space if they left enough CCC for a family and stuff.

We checked out an Access 31J at the Minneapolis RV show today. We have three small kids, and so have been thinking of getting a bunkhouse TT or MH. In MH's, the only options before the 31J were a few Super C's that were also super pricey. The 31J is reasonably priced. My biggest concern is the same one that others raised above -- CCC. According to the salesman, with a full load of fluids and 4 passengers aboard, it is supposed to have just 619 pounds of capacity left. That chassis is maxed out for sure.

I'll get to experience it firsthand, though. We arranged through that dealer to rent a 31J in June for a week ($1595 with no mileage charge). We'll decide when we get back whether it's worth buying. If not, we'll probably end up with a new TV and bunkhouse TT for about the same price.

We just bought the Winnebago 31J. We've been watching for it--saw the floorplan at an RV show last fall, but no one was carrying one. Finally found one a few months ago. We LOVE it! Rides great! The kids love it! We love not having the pull out beds every night and put them all away in the morning. Also, nice separation between living space--where we can play cards or watch a movie after the kids go to bed. 3 flat screen TVs! We have 3 really long trips planned for the summer! Can't wait!!!

I really like the floorplan on the 31J! We would have purchased a Winnebago access 31c last year but didn't like the step up going into the bedroom. The 31J doesn't appear to have a step up. Maybe we need to sell our 08 Jayco and try one. We've had several Winnebago class c in the past. While the CCC seems small, Winnebago does an excellent job at balancing the weight and this would not be a problem for us.
