For Bonnie and others who asked for the recipe for my Rum Cake.

Heat oven to 325 degrees.

Grease and flour a bundt cake pan.

Sprinkle 1/2 cup of sliced almonds in bottom of pan.

Mix together the following:

1 box of yellow cake mix with pudding in the mix.
4 eggs
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup oil
3/4 cup rum

Beat for 3 minutes.

Pour into Bundt pan and bake for 55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let cake cool in pan for 1/2 hour and with toothpick prick holes all over.

On stove top in small pan cook the following:

1 cube of butter
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar

Let boil for 1 minute.

Take off the heat and add 3/4 cup of rum.

Pour this mixture into the pan over the cake and let it soak in for at least 2 hours.

Turn the cake over onto a platter and let sit for a while before removing pan.

Enjoy!!!

Sandi

This recipe and a cup of hot chocolate and you will not feel any pain.

Lynne, Bri (Brianna - DGD) and I had a marvelous time at Frankenmuth III - we're all looking forward to Frankenmuth IV in 2010 ...

Not too many badge goofs - apologies to JohnnyT and Becky for goofing those up... For the next rally in 2010, please be sure you supply your name, your screen name, your spouse's or significant other's name, and any children and/or their friends... Chuck and I worked diligently to try to obtain all the names but alas, some did fall thru the cracks and were missed, or were incorrect - my apologies to those effected... I'll try to do better next time...

A BIG RV.Net thank you to Chuck for organizing this event... He and I organized the first one and I missed the second, but we promise to be at the 4th... I initially was helping Chuck with his slide problem and then Ron came by and then the RV repair guy came by who really found the problem... Not to worry Chuck, if that's the worst that happens, you'll be in good shape... Did I ever tell you about the time I tried to pull out of my site with my wheel chocks still in place ... Happens to the best of us ...

A big thanks to Bonnie and Todd for all their hospitality extended at the impromptu BBQ at their site and those MARVELOUS Hot Chocolates - the members were standing in line for those ...

Finally met Dick and Sandi Ackerman and that was a pure pleasure... You couldn't ask to meet two nicer people... Sandi's Rum Cake is lethal and very tasty, but I had trouble walking home after several pieces

It was nice to finally meet JohnnyT and his wife Becky - it's always nice to put a face with a name... And a big RV.Net thanks to JohnnyT for toting all those T-Shirts to the rally... I'm sure all the members appreciated them...

And if course it is always a pleasure to see my good friends Barney and Marlene again... Barney and I originally met at the first RV.Net Rally and now share Moderating duties in various forums...

And to all the "new to me" RV.Net family I met, I hope we see you all soon at another RV.Net Rally... It's always a pleasure to spend time with our extended RV.Net/Camping family... Hope to see you all very soon again ...

Hello from Surreywood Farm in Goshen… We had an uneventful trip back to the farm… In our discussions about the rally on the way home we were unanimous in our opinion. We have never enjoyed a rally more than this one.

Kudos’s to our Host and my friend Bagman for doing all the right things to make all of our experiences as positive as possible.

Thanks to Les we all had Badges with the distinctive RV.net Logo complete with holders so the badges were easy to wear and read.

As usual the potluck was loaded with great dishes and desserts, we even had two large bowls of fresh fruit that must have taken hours to cut into small pieces. I did my best to sample everything but could not get it done… Everything I had was delicious…

With a few exceptions the campground did well … The Wifi for some was an issue and one of our group arrived to find his site still occupied but the campground staff did do their best to make up for it.

Personally, this rally has been our best rally experience thus far.

I had the opportunity to spend time with folks we have met at previous rallies plus I got the opportunity to visit with and enjoy the company of folks I had not previously met. It was also good to see so many moderators... I was really happy to see Dick and Sandi and Barney and Marlene and get to meet Les in person along with his DW Lynn and their Granddaughter Brianna whose good looks, charm and intelligence must be from Lynn's side

I got a fantastic fan installed for less than I could have bought one.

I discovered Bonnie’s hot chocolate ..off the charts wonderful …Not sure of the count but there looked to be 40 or 50 hanging out the last night enjoying Bonnies marvelous hot chocolate… Sinfully good

We did have the benefit of good weather… A great campground and an exceptional campsite (which I have filed a claim for good for the next 10 Frankenmuth rallies) But what made this one special were our host and the great folks that attended the rally… Thank you one and all for our wonderful experience.

In terms of the Tee Shirts...I appreciate the thanks You’s … but I was just the messenger of Admin’s and AGI’s commitment to the members of RV.net.

I would be remiss not to recognize the support of Fantastic Fan, and RV Barn as well as General RV who sponsored our Pizza Night and dropped by to visit on a couple of occasions.

Chuck is talking about waiting till 2010 for the next one I hope he meant 2009…

Also… Thanks to all to attended and contributed to the rich fellowship that embodies the very spirit of RVing…

Johnny

I wonder if any of the others traveling West on I-69 noticed the signs. Around the Swartz Creek exit there was a billboard advising to "Get in the Right Lane, Go to ITT Tech. Twenty more feet down the road the road sign said "Right Lane Closed Ahead". It was great meeting all the new people. I gave my new fan a workout on the way home.

HI ALL!! This is egnors dw aka Stacey. I did get a few good pics. And wanted to share them. As Brent said earlier we had a great time. (I think Brents favorite was playing with our sons marshmellow gun!) he's always sneaking off into trouble, I'm gonna have to keep him on a leash.. hehehe.

I dont know who made the little wrap sandwiches or the yummy chocolate cake but Im telling you I think we should all swap recipes, I left full!!! and it was great food.

Jacob was sure proud that he got to say the prayer Thanks Bagman! and Caleb has slept in his shirt since the day he got it. Only tonight did I get him to take it off. (boy does it smell now(ehe)

Anywho, we'll be at the next one. I just have to keep Brent away from those Rv dealers he was tryin to upgrade ours already.. phew he keeps me on my toes!!

Hope you like them:

Hello Frankenmuth ralliers! Greetings from Gering NE!!!

We haven't had a Wifi connection until tonight, but we've had a great trip so far... beginning with the super rally in Frankenmuth.
Good job bagman, can't wait for the next one.

Since Sunday, we've had two days of driving, then today we finally got to do some sightseeing - we toured the Great Platte River Road Archway monument, Ash Hollow historical site, Courthouse Rock & Jail Rock, Chimney Rock, and right now we are in Robideau RV park in Gering NE at the base of Scotts Bluff.

We can see the bluff from our dinette window. The cats have adapted well to the travel. I will try to post a few pictures, I discovered my laptop is not compatible with my camera card, so we need to buy a cable to make the transfer.

It was so nice to meet so many new friends at the rally and spend time with some dear friends too.

Bye for now, Kathy

Stacey, Jacob did a terrific job saying the blessing and he is just one cute little boy. I bet you are very proud of him. My wife Joanne made the chocolate cake and believe it or not, it is low cal! We're going to step it up a few notches for Frankenmuth IV and it will be a rally one will not want to miss. I am so glad that you and your family could come to this one and we look forward to seeing you at #4. Best wishes, Chuck.

Judith and I made it back to Indiana without incident but did run through some heavy rain and wind on Sunday. This was our first RV.net rally and we had a terrific time meeting new friends, enjoying the pitch in and hot chocolate. Frankenmuth is truly a fun place to visit, specially because of RV netters. We look forward to the next rally. Thanks to Bagman for hosting and other who contributed.

As soon as I find your address John F. I'll email you.

Patsy and I would like to thank everyone for the card signed by all the folks at the rally. We were disppointed that we couldn't meet all of you in person. Chuck also included other items from the rally which were a lot of fun to get. It was kinda like Christmas going through the box of items. Thank you all very much. Next Frankenmuth rally we are THERE!!!! Too bad it isn't until 2010.
We have a new full RV park. When it gets built, maybe I will host a rally there and you all can come to LA(Lower Alabama) to see us.
God bless you all and safe travels.
