I will pass on the flamingo.

Bed, Bath and Beyond had been a good supplier of palm trees.

I did a Google search for them and found way too many at higher prices than I would pay.

If ya really want one ya gotta pay to play!

Y'all can make them, and us girls will make them pretty and decorate We'll all brainstorm the design issues (around a LARGE table, with a Margarita machine in the middle, of course - LOL!), so they're functional. Frank can draft them out. Robo can make them secure. You boys can build them, to make sure every screw and bolt is done right. The kids can test them for durability, as can the pets. I suppose they need to be designed to be parked in a big circle (perhaps with awnings that connect between them), like the wagons of the old West, so we can "circle the wagons" around the bonfire at night.... Hey! This could be FUN! We'd be like a travelling village! Wait....I think they call those "Gypsies" - LOL!

Ooh, ooh, ooh (hand in the air waving like that to get a teacher's attention)! Can I be in charge of all the sewing of the tent ends???? I would make sure they fit they way they are supposed to fit, no sagging in the middle when it rains! And I can pick out really cool colors for the material on the interior cushions; and make sure the zippers actually work! Please? Pretty please. . . .I'll even use my Joann's discount! LOL

Ya know...it would be funny if we actually DID that! I mean, we've all camped enough to know what works and what doesn't. We could probably ALL add a little touch. It's a shame the manufacturers don't have consumer panels of folks that actually USE the darned things to guide them in their design and manufacturing ideas. I'm pretty sure that they'd come up with some EXCELLENT ideas! We just need to convince them to give away "loaners" so we can "test drive" them for a few months and report back to them with suggestions for improvement Nawwwwww....that would be too logical! LOL!

Joanne - Keep an eye out at Walmart, too. I remember last year, right before Christmas, they had them on clearance for like $12! I didn't get one, because we couldn't see hauling around the extra weight for something ELSE that we'd have to set up when we got there and store the rest of the time.
