I got off the phone with BEV she is really Nice and I told her some of the concerns from people that are NOT attending the rally. She told me she was going to check the 300 loop and make sure everything was on the up and up.
Thanks for checking into things. The weekend is about friends anyhow, not about weeds.

Guess we'll be bringing lots of mosquito repellant and bug spray, too, after all of this rain.
Another bit of advice. Make sure if you have any pets that they are up to date on their flea and tick meds.
I think the old owners used to spray. I do not think the new ones do. In previous years we have not seen a tick. Last year we averaged 3 a day if not more.
Be careful everyone!!
Um....don't tell me that....with lyme diease what it is up north here it freaks me out and we had a very bad tick experience. We use to use advantage and though it worked against ticks too but it didn't...took our dogs to the groomer and they got ticks from the groomers and we had about 30 a day little tiny baby ones on top of other ones on top of other ones. Needless to say our house yard and every thing got infested no matter what we tried...finally after four months of intensive treatments (washing all pillows blankets curtains etc etc etc wiping down matresses and having our yard sprayed we finally got rid of them. (this is at our home in Florida)we still get it exterminated and every once in awhile still one of the dogs will bring in a tick from the yard (and we live in city not woods) Anyway hard lesson learned....we switched to Frontline only to have several different friends and family tell us that it killed two friends (and made one seriously sick) dogs so I talked to the vet and she did say it works really well but there have been adverse reactions in many animals (she felt the risk was worth it as she said it is not generally wide spread) but I was afraid to use it so she told me about Revolution which (she said she doesn't think its AS good tick wise but would work fine for us) and it is good for worms/fleas/ticks/and heart worm and it was alot cheaper. (especially with 4 dogs and a cat) we haven't had a problem since Thank God...just thought I would pass along that info LOL.....I also get them vaccinated for Lyme's though because that is so wide spread here where we didn't have that in Florida

Yeesh, I'm hating this weather. My neighbors have so many trees and the wind was whipping so violently that the camper (whose slides are OUT for load-up tomorrow) is COVERED in twigs & bits of leaves. I'm going to have to hose it off just to close it up.
But I'm still better off than the folks 3 miles from here in Bowers Beach. Their town is under 4-feet of water and everyone has been evacuated.
C'mon vacation-time!!!
Cheers!

They have a reserve squadron of C-5's that fly out of there, and it's one of our "possibilities" for when we retire, so we figure since we're close, we'll go check it out.
If you guys were not aware, good old WV does not tax military retirement along with some other good deals for vets. We may be moving up that way depending on my job now the company changed hands, and if of course if we could sell the house in this market.

My dogie was vaccinated for Lymes and still got it I asked the vet why and he said its not fool proof.. Our Vet said probably up 60% of dogs in PA may have lymes and never shows signs.
