We were out at the lake and left our Labrador in the camper for a little while while we were doing some stuff outside. When we went in to get her, I smelled propane. I found that she had been putting her front feet on the counter in the effort to look out the window and see what was going on outside. In the process she managed to hit one of the knobs on the stove and turn on the gas. Fortunately she was only in there a short while!! Now we take off the knobs if we need to leave her alone.

Thanks! I've considered adding a shutoff valve under the sink.

Our dog isn't big enough to do that, but thanks for the heads up, never thought of it.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. Our Lab is smart as a human and loves to eat. He'd try to cook some thing if weren't paying attention too.

Wow! Sounds like it could have turned out a lot worse. Thanks for the heads up. Dave.

Being a Lab, probably not. Now if it had been a Golden Retriever...........

Very good info. Normally duplicate threads are not allowed, but you are welcome to start another thread on this in the pet forum.

Thanks,

Thanks Brad posted a link in pets.

As for the LP we decided to take the knobs off rather than turn off the LP in order to keep the fridge going and the lines purged. The turn off for just the oven/stove is a good idea too.
