Draining water will always follow the rope....
I haven't done it to this trailer, but I did it on our last.
Sorry, should have noted "string" not rope.... and I tied a nut to the end of the rope and just placed it on the ground behind the trailer...
I actually did this so that the water wasn't running off the roof and all over our bikes that were chained to the bumper...
Maybe over-engineering but that's part of the fun!!

If this mild winter continues ill be able to get out and start on some of these mods on my own trailer .

Mostly useless closet in my TT:
So I decided to install more useful shelves as i don't normally hang my camping clothes. Shelves would be able to accommodate more items also.
And the finished product!
Also added some removable carpets to help my three legged dog on the steps.
Take only photographs; leave only footprints

i am in the middle of adding shelves to my trailer aswell to much wasted space without them.

It was not the easiest mod ever since my cupboard was so narrow and deep, but well worth it in the end!! (I almost got stuck in it a few times when reaching towards the back)
I did it on a summer day when it was +25, I would not recommend that unless you can have the A/C humming!

Great idea; How do you make them stay in place? Velcro? Would it be possible for you to flip one over and photograph it for us so we can see how you put it together...? Thanks!
I have an older Shetland Sheepdog that's having a tough time on the steps, would like to hear just a bit more. This would help the old guy out a lot.

Not sure if that's what he used but you can buy carpet for your steps at just about any RV place like these at
Camping World

I wrapped them (the carpets) around the step to figure out where the overlapping ends came to then used sticky velcro to stick them to each other (one strip on the underside and one on the topside). If you have a sewing machine that would work better - the velcro doesn't stick to the actual carpet so great - once I took them off a few times it started to not stick so well. After one season I used a friends machine to fix the velcro in place. The carpets have the rubber bottom so they didn't shift once secured to the step.
I got the idea from the $20 ones i saw on the website noted above. These worked out to about $8 each and I was able to get colours to match my trailer
Sorry, can't get any pictures of the bottom side since the trailer is wrapped up for the winter and in a few feet of snow

Another thing you can do is poke gromit holes (sp?)on each end and use a little bungee cord to hold them on. There are also metal springy things with hooks at each end. We use those. Someone left a big piece of outdoor carpeting at our campsite once and we cut that into many step mats.
