We used our water pump for the first time since installing an accumulator tank this year. WOW what a difference in noise. I had to shut off the ceiling vent fan to hear the pump!!!

Great mod!!!

Am interested in this...
More details please!
What & where?
Thanks!

Hey there.. I have no problem answering questions... It is true that it was not a unique idea. I got the idea from here and internet searches.
Accumulator tanks are steel tanks with a bladder inside them. The tank itself is pressurized so when you pump water into the bladder, the tank will provide 'pressurized' water for a while (about 15 toilet flushes if you have the time/patience to sit and count)

I added a 2 gallon tank that I purchased at Home Depot for about $50.00. I took the fittings off of the pressure side of my water pump and went to Home Depot with them in hand. I talked to the guy at HD about the fittings and found out they are somehwat 'special' but are the same thread/size as lawn sprinkler system fittings. I used a couple of steel braided water hoses (the ones that you might see UNDER your sink to tie the tank into the water system. So, to sum it up quickly, once you get required fittings...

Remove PRESSURE line off of water pump.
Install T to the bottom of the accumulator tank.
Install 1st new braided line from pump to tank.
Install 2nd new braided line from tank to trailer.
Basically, you are 'T'ing the tank into the pressure system.

You CAN put the tank anywhere in the system but I am glad that I put it right beside the pump de to the SIGNIFICANT reduction in noise which I personally blame on 'rattling' water lines. The lines no longer rattle because the accumulator tank provides even pressure.

I'm sure you'll find lotsa info if you do a search on this site..?

He did a mod and liked the results he got.
So you prefer that I don't ask him what he used and where he got it?

I'm curious, why?

You are obviously new here. Not new here. Also have been on forums since forums existed. Welcome. Thanks! Welcome to you too!

This forum has been around a long time. Many issues have been discussed, and then discussed, and then discussed...Boy, they sure have!
The two questions I asked were "What & where?" I'm not sure what me asking him for those two specific pieces of information has to do with how many times "issues have been discussed"?

If you do a search on the accumulator tank, you will get dozens (hundreds?) of results on how different people have performed this mod. Of course I will. But how do I do a search that shows me which accumulater he used and where he got it? That is all I was asking him. He installed an accumulator and liked it so I was simply trying to find out from him which one he used and where he got it. Am I really not allowed to do that?

A search will benefit YOU because you WILL find a method that YOU like better than the one that was just mentioned. No offense to the guy that just mentioned it, but doing a search will show you many different ways to do this mod.

Thanks for taking the time to share, much appreciated!
I was actually just interested in which one you used because you were very happy with the results you got.
Again, thanks for sharing!

Whatever...

I guess you've been lurking for a long time, but finally got up the nerve to 'join' a year ago (4/29/2011).

Good information. Your original post indicated that the accumulator tank reduced the noise. In actuality, it was the flexible water lines (removing the hard lines) on your pump that reduced the noise.

What makes you think I "lurked" here? When I discovered this place on 4/29/2011 I joined it. I didn't say this forum, I said "Also have been on forums since forums existed." meaning forums and the way they work are not new to me.

Why would you think it takes "nerve" to join a forum?

Are you just having a bad day or are you always condenscending and insulting like this?
