Wife i were in total amazement! Awesome looking rig. This thing is impressive in person. We just got back from vacation and i was going to try and post the pic. No need to now.
Sorry we missed you! Were you the guy who asked to take the pic while we were parked there?
We were out driving the rig around putting miles on it for its 2,500 mile checkup that day. We'd driven it down from Riverside where we built it. We used to live in Carlsbad so were making the rounds.
Sorry we didn't talk. My wife is good friends with the people who own the big scrapbooking store in that retail development and she was intent on me getting the rig moved over there so she could take some shots of the rig & their store in the background. You don't want to come between a scrapbooker and a photo op.
Hope to come across you out on the roads one of these days. We'll be around the SW USA for 4-6 weeks, so if you're out there you might see us.

We will be limited by the departure angle. It was a design compromise. Everything about a project like this is a compromise in one way or another.

Very nicely executed rig. Though it's a little short on ground clearance for my tastes it looks like you did a very thorough job of planning it out. You should be able to enjoy many years of fun travels in it.
I hadn't heard of that mounting requirement for the 16.5 Warn (it isn't mentioned in the owners manual either) but luckily I got it right when I installed mine into the bumper.

Just saying, the best of times for your trips. I must say I'm a little disappointed in your design, it doesn't appear to have room for my wife and I to come along. Very well done and I admire your skills and I hope the trips taken with it are as good but better than you hope. Enjoy.
Yes, we were able to follow Michel's build. Santek is about 8 miles by street/highway from where we built our rig. We visited there just after they had installed the interior in Michel's rig.
In fact, it was Santek's production manager who noticed the flaw in our original transfer case skid plate design when looking at photos on our web site.
Michel tried to come by and see ours on one of his return trips from his weekend escapes from the Riverside air quality, but he missed an exit on one of the freeways. Later, he was forced to quickly return to Baja to assist a friend down there so he wasn't able to stop by along the way to see our rig when his was complete.
He's a fascinating guy with an interesting perspective. If you're ever in Baja, look him up.
