Hello All from your Wagon Masters,

June is just around the corner. It seems just like yesterday we were in Colorado 2007 and last year we were in Branson 2006. Time as gone very fast but the fellowship and forever friendships made along the way are steadfast.

This is the first time Ted and I have called ourselves "your wagon masters." It's our first.

It's our first commitment but not our last. We're also wagon masters for our Carriage RV group in Aug. Last year in Colorado Ted and I were asked to be wagon masters for Branson 2008. Then, that seem a long time away. We live in Kansas City and have been to ABC many times. We're pros at attending the round ups but this will be our first commitment as your wagon master. It's pay back time for all those who've served us over the years.

I've attended several rallies at ABC. Michele and her staff are great to work with. They have already gone out of their way to help make this rally a nice experience for all of us. We will all have FUN.

However, there are some events that must be scheduled because we are using someone else's facility and equipment. There are some events that are set. Friday evening is scheduled and set. The big smoker grill has to be rented and the club house checked out to us. The club house has only so many hours allowed for usage. This is why we will post a more detailed itinerary in a few more weeks. The general out line is posted.

I'll bring the standing fire ring for the evenings and anyone who wants to bring additional wood that would be great.

I know 10 rigs may not seem like many, but at the last 2 rallies (there's only been 2) have been wonderful. We've all left with new friends and memories. Who said "bigger is better." There will be other campers in the campground that may want to join in. In Mountaindale RV park in Colorado the group graciously invited other rv'ers to join in. Again, new friendships were established.

We already have several items from Camping World donated as door prizes/raffle. We are in need of much more door prizes such as home made crafts or any rv items. Your donations will be generously appreciated. The money will go to our cause.

I'm assuming that most of you know "Old Fella" group is non for profit and everyone is a VOLUNTEER. We do not have dues or collect money towards our rallies for expenses. All prize money collected goes towards Old Fella and his cause.

Again, once we get the itinerary posted, we all can fine tune it and volunteers can sign up for what they want to do. So far colliehauler is doing breakfast. He will need another volunteer to assist. Any takers. On the first arrival/registration day the gents are cooking dinner with your choice of meat on the grill. Bring a side dish.

Good Morning Friends,
It has been 4 days since anyone posted. I am really trying to keep the interest up in this outing. It will be the first time we have been to Branson and we are really looking forward to coming. I do know that the gas prices are up and such, but please try to find it in your heart to make every effort to come to the Old Fella Rally. Old Fella could use the lovin' and prayers of all you fine folks. We know that he has had 3 wonderful years with Richard and Sue but we neesd to keep trying to give support to them and what this old dog has started.
Lori and I cancelled a couple of trips so we could make sure to come to this one.(750 miles one way) I know it will not be as far for us as for some but I feel bad that with all the verbal support that had been given to Richard in the past that more can't seem to make the trip.
Sorry, I will get off my soapbox. I just want to try to keep this thread closer to the beginning of the topic rather than letting it slide back to page 3 or 4.
For those of you that have signed up to come that I have not met, I will be very anxious to meet you. For those I met at Rutherfordton, it sure will be good to see you all again. Take care and God Bless.

Dan,

This will be our third OFR. We were at the original one in Branson in 2006, and then the one last year in Colorado. We were sorry to have missed the heat stroke rally, but we made up for it by freezing our butts off in Colorado!

JMHO, but I don't think the OFR will ever be a really BIG rally. Personally, that's alright with me. I like small gathering much more than large.

I do not think I will be able to attend this year. We would have to many people gone from work at the same time. I will let you know if something changes. I hope everyone has a good time best wishes colliehauler.

Awwwwwwwww wasn't that cold Walter! But I do remember seeing some snowflakes in Winter Park when we all went on Phantom road.

Dan this will be our 3rd Old Fella Rally this year. We also were at the first and again in Colorado, last year Old Fella Rally. Looking forward to meeting you and seeing all.

We will be there! But will probably have to go to the "poor house" after we get home from paying these high diesel prices!!

Mine doesn't run on diesel, but they all seem to run on money these days, don't they? This will also be my third; I was also at the first in Branson, and last year in Colorado (You call THAT cold???). My motorhome is currently de-winterized and in the shop getting a new water pump for the cooling system and a new galley faucet. I am looking forward to meeting old and new friends. By then, I may finally have my new computer working the way I like it, and I may finally understand Vista....

P.S: Happy Passover!

Good Morning to All,

Sorry to hear Colliehauler you will not be at Branson. We'll miss you. If your plans change please let us know. June is still weeks away and you may still make it. Just let us know for sure. We all will miss the fur kids as well. Did you see your picture in Good Sam's magazine?

We have some very nice door prizes from Trailer Life. Good Sam's gave us 1 free yr to Good Sam's membership and 1 free yr to Trailer Life.

I'll be posting this weekend the rally schedule of events. Please stand by and volunteer.

Thanks
