Don't fret. As you can see, most everyone is laughing about whatever happened by the time they post on here. It just adds a little spice to what ever is still in the pot.....

Get it? Worked your screen name right in there!

Have fun while you enjoy the bumps in the road.

The adventure really begins when things stop going as planned..which is, in my opinion, the whole point of the exercise. Those moments are the ones you'll enjoy talking about for years to come. The mundane perfectly planned on schedule days will be long forgotten by the end of the week.

That's why you want a RV in the first place. It's to get away from the stress. Then if you end up in a stressful situation anyway, it'll only last a few hours then afterward you can go find a nice peaceful place with a pleasant view and put that setting right outside your door...

Just get your trailer and become a red dot on the horizon. You'll do ok even on the less than perfect days.

Pulled out of the hotel parking lot in Vegas with the bedroom slide out. I noticed it though, as I was getting on the freeway.

One of the first trips out, we got home, everything safe and sound. Went to unload the trailer, and oops! I had locked the keys inside - both sets! DH was already a bit miffed at me for something else I had done so imagine his ire when I said he needed to call a locksmith! Cost me $35.00. We now have 4 sets of keys, one in the house, one in the truck glove box, and two for the trailer.

Gee Dusty, I had not heard that before. We will have to discuss it at the Old Fella Rally.

I'm not a newbie to camping, but a newbie to my Palomino. I got it home and I was testing out all the appliances. I turned on the fridge and it kept automatically going to gas, even though I was plugged into shore power. I had purchased it from a dealer about 120 miles away, and they gave me a warranty. Thankfully, I had a work job to do in a nearby town, so I drove my TV pulling my new TT back to the dealer and dropped it off that morning so they could check the fridge. I then went to do my work job, and came back that afternoon and picked up the TT. They said that the only thing they could find wrong was that the GFI outlet right beside the front door had tripped, and that it was wired to the fridge!

I ended up burning up about $60 worth of gas that day driving my own vehicle on a work job, and to get the TT "fixed" when it wasn't really broken. Well, it was nice that evening because I was tired and hungry, so I pulled into a rest area, made some dinner, and took a nap for about an hour before heading home!

About 5 yrs ago I finished a job, hooked up to my 24' Aljo TT and headed home. About mid-night I pulled into home, turned te trailer around and backed through one of my wifes flower beds. She let me know all about it the next morning. I'm much more careful now.

Real quick lesson; the back of the 5er moves real fast. I found this out the hard way, 1 bunk window and a 3 foot scrape on the fiberglass. The calprit, a 12" dia tree.

Bunk window from ebay $35.00
Rubbing compound/polish/buffer $5.00
Having all your friends remind you of the above.....yup....priceless!!
