Finished getting the Milestar ST225/75D15's off, and getting the Michelin 245/75R16 E's on- Clearance seems fine, except for just one close area on the back side of the front tire on the side with the slide, the middle of the sidewall, (halfway between the rim and the tread), is adjacent to the rotating bar for the slide on that side. There's about 3/16" (maybe a hair less) between the side of the tire and the corner of that bar (it's rectangular). I drove it home from Sam's Club, stopping off at a couple of places, one where I had to turn around in gravel, and make some backing maneuvers to get turned around. I say this as I see no evidence of the tire having made contact with that bar. I didn't notice this close clearance until after I got home and crawled under to check things out.
Here's a picture, and my question is, do I have anything to be concerned about? Should I take the tire off and smooth that edge out, the edge where the one rectangular bar goes into the other?

What about the possibility of making some sort of adjustment on that bar, can it be adjusted so that it stops where that side of the rectangular bar is straight up and down, rather than where it is now?
Is that clearance from the factory or did you go bigger and wider on tire size.
Sure hope you dont have tire seperation, because it will possable tear up that slide bar next to that wheel.

The bar is part of the gear mechanism on Lippert slides. There is only one hydraulic ram on one side, and when the side moves, there is a worm gear that turns that rod which in turn moves the worm on the other slide leg. You can't mess with it or your slides won't work.
I have a slide also that spans the axles, and the bar is fairly close to the tires, but it doesn't look quite that close.
I would just keep an eye on both the bar and tires, and as long as you don't see any indications of rubbing, you are probably fine.

I upgraded from ST225/75D15 (8.85 width) to LT245/75R16 (9.64 width), I should have moved closer only half that difference about .395, assuming the wheels I took off were 0 offset as I put on 0 offset wheels.

Do you think I should smooth out that one protruding edge a little?

Probably too late, but LT235/85R16 would have been a better size choice. These carry the same load and have the same outside diameter as LT245/75R16. The tire shop guys should have known this.
