Words of wisdom? OK...I'll give it a shot.

Don't squat with your spurs on.
Don't pee on an electric fence.
Trust your friends, but still cut the cards.
When you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is quit digging.
Never kick a cowpie on a hot day.
