Hi, the eternabond on my rv is lifting in some places at the edges and at the ends. I have purchased new eternabond with the idea of removing and replacing. Problem is how the heck do you get this stuff off?? I have tried pulling from an end ,but don't want to proceed if there is a solvent or something that will remove it. Thanks. Rod

Not really. We used EB and found it great. What may be peeling up is what it was put on - and that you have NO control over.
Snow Coat - never heard of it.

Follow up to my eternabond removal post. As it turns out I do not think that it is eternabond up there. since we had this 90 plus weather i pulled the old tape again and up it came. It left a black residue not the gray like eternabond and i was able to clean that up with rubbing alcohol. applied the eternabond on the front so far and it looks good. Still have to finish it off with a bead of caulk ,but easier than I thought . The eternabond itself is not that easy to apply when you have rivets etc. to go over ,leaves lumps and crinkles ,but i am hoping this will be a one off job. Rod

Rod: You may want to check with Andy Baird, who has a Lazy Daze, and has used Eternabond extensively over the years. Andy tells it like it is and I know you would enjoy getting his feedback. His website is www.andybaird.com - he has answered all our questions with regard to eternabond and it's application and removal. Also, he will answer any and all emails to him.

Rod,
Ours had "butyl tape" whose residue removed with lacquer thinner. It was 2" wide and the EB was 4". I called EB and they said half an inch either side of the butyl was marginal adhesion area but should work. When I found the butyl would come off then the thinner would clean the glue away, I removed all the old and applied the EB. You're right about the rivets and joints. Job comes up a little lumpy.
BTW, I ran EB from trim to trim across the roof. HR had put butyl across the top only then a sealer around the curve to the trim strip on each side. I decided that some EB, even wrinked a little, was better to be seen from the ground than not prevent a leak.
Have fun!
God Bless, jd
