A week or two ago I mentioned on a thread I posted on that I was going to see if I could quiet down a already quiet Honda EU1000i. I am pretty well along with the containment structure and have snapped a few pictures of it. I need to apply a couple of more coats of varnish and assemble it and it will be done.If I can figure it out I am going to try and post a couple of them here. I have never tried to post pictures so I am not sure I can do it but here goes ---I give up!
If anyone is curious send me a PM with a e-mail address and I will send them to you. I do know how to do that

Jim, let's see if this helps:
Go to www.photobucket.com and set up an account.
After you have an account, go there again and sign in.
It should display a page that says "Welcome" (your account name)
Click on the green "My Album"
Right below the top bar will be "upload to: (your account name).
Right underneath that will be a bar with "images from my PC". Click on it.
Underneath that will be three blank boxes with "Browse" at the right of each one.
Click on the first "Browse".
A "Choose File" box will appear. Near the top of the box will be "Look in" with a window to the right of it.
In that window will be perhaps "my documents". If the pictures you want to transfer are in "my documents" on your computer, good. If they are in "my pictures" on your computer, use the down arrow to scroll to display "my pictures" in the window. Or you might have "my pictures" displayed in the box.
Click on wherever in your computer your pictures are. Probably "my pictures".
If you clicked on "my pictures", all of your pictures should appear in the box.
Click on a picture and its description should show up in the window on the "upload to: area on the photobucket page.
Click "Upload" and watch the progress bar. When it is done, the picture should appear on the photobucket page.
Scroll down a little and you should see your picture.
Under your picture will be four lines. The bottom line (IMG Code)is the one you want.
Click to copy it. Depending on your browser, it may take just a left click or a right click and a "copy" click.
Then paste it in your post here.

Thanks Bill. I have put them in a Picassa web file but it is all new to me and I don't know how to get back to them. This is WAY past my computer skill level. I will try to get back to where they are on Picassa and look for that (IMG code) thing. GRRRRRR!!!!!
It took me two years to figure out how to attach a photo to a e-mail and I still screw it up some times. Computers are definately not my best skill (-:

I finished my sound deadening box for the EU1000i. You don't realize how noisy those supposedly quiet generators are until you make something like I have to get rid of almost ALL the noise.
I am really pleased with the way this thing turned out. It is possible to have a truely silent generator.
I set up the box with the generator in it on a 3' high pedestal and put my Radio Shack sound level meter on a camera tripod 20' away. The lowers setting for the meter is 60 dba at o on the meter. The meter goes to -10 and + 10 so -10 would be 50 dba.
I tested no load econo on - 500w econo on - 500w econo off. I tested control panel to the meter - exhaust end to the meter and side to the meter.
On all tests the meter would not move off of -10 unless I made a noise! You literally can't hear it 20' away.
No cooling issues, my cooling design seems to be fine.
A silent generator is possible (-:

Tom,
I would be happy to share picture and any other information anyone might want - BUT - I so far only get frustrated when I try to link pictures. I tried following billh instructions and no luck so I gave up. I am just not cut out to be a computer wizard (-:
I just remembered I have a little web site on WEBTV that I forgot about and haven't looked at for several years. I may try putting some pictures there. In the mean time I can e-mail some to you. PM me a e-mail address and I will send you some. I haven't taken the finished photos but will do them tomorrow. If you want to post them here from my e-mail go for it.
For me a computer is more of a confuser (-:
The box is 15" X 15" X 26". I used a sheet of Luan flooring underlayment for the wood and it is held together with about 24' of 3/4" X 3/4" X 1/16" aluminum angle.fastened with 4-40 X 3/8" FH SS screws threaded into the aluminum. The box weights about 28 pounds. More later.
Jim

Here are three pictures from Jim:

Jim has gotta be the best generator neighbor ever. Instead of defending his noisy generator, or his right to make noise, he works and works to make less noise.

Jim, I had an older version of photobucket when I wrote those instructions. I am now up to date and have edited the instructions in hopes that they are more clear.

With it being in a confined space, do you have any issues with it keeping cool on a hot day? I also would think running it in a confined space would void the warranty. I like the design but it worries me about having wood that close to a hot exhaust.
But then again, I am always the devil's advocate. Please do not take offense.

Man I have heard non-honda 1,000's and I've heard honda 1,000s (But I had to listen real hard) I don't know how you could quite one of those down much more than what Honda did.
I was at a rally and they had a pair of Yahamas running (a 1200 and a 2400 IIRC, may be off a bit) The salesman could not hear them... I could.. just.. but I am very used to tuning my hearing and hearing through noise. But I could only hear the bigger one. I could tell the smaller one was live, but not by ear.
