We had a very nice time although it seems that the Michigan side of lake Michigan is a faster pace than The door county side in Wisconsin. Although we did not go as far North as Door County, We wanted to see the dunes. The camp ground was clean although rather small sites and crowded. Not sure that we will go there again. Just didn't seem to fit us as other campgrounds have.
We camped there a few years ago and thought the same thing. Very small.
We camped a few weeks ago at the Warren Dunes State Park. We loved the beach, lake, and climbing the dunes. The campground was better than the one across the street, but only electric sites.
We did drive a few miles north to Silver Beach in the St. Joseph area and the beach there is also wonderful. They have little shops and the Amtrak stops right in the middle of the beach area. We had a great time.
Can't wait to back again next year.
Any more information either of you could provide would be great. What number was your camp site? We're going there next week so I kinda like to know what we're getting into before since we will be there 5 days.
We just made reservations for the 18-20. Have never been there but it looked good. We have a Dodge Dually pulling a 35' travel trailer with 2 slides. I think our site is a back up by the pond. Think we will fit????

We were there also during the July 4th weekend and were on site #9 which is not a site for our 38' fifth wheel but made it fit somehow...interior campground roads are very tight as are most of the sites except for the pull-thru's...nice campground but very small...be alert when you drive through with the trailer attached...alot of seasonal sites...campground owners are very nice and very accomodating to whatever you may need...make sure you check out the fruit stand about 1/8 mile west of the campground as everything there is very fresh
