They're probably not expecting humans (of any age) to step out of that unusual looking vehicle. Don't you get weird looks even when you're not stepping out of it?

Darn close for me 58.6 the other half is younger. No wonder I felt like I fit in. Plus those B owners are all young at heart.

Will be 59 in a few days, wife is 47 today. Had a Falcon a few years ago, but had it so lettered up with fishing sponsors the family wouldn't go in it. Now kids are married and I'm building a B from a 96 B2500 hi-top and plan on cutting way back on fishing tournaments and spending more weekends camping in (mostly) state parks with wife.

The map shows the states my wife and I have driven (or camped) in together.

51 and 51. Wish we were retired (but not wanting to rush getting older!), so we could enjoy our B even more.

31+31. I am surprised B's are not more popular with young families, they are the best way to travel with young children IMHO. Almost of of our friends (with young children) have been spellbound when we show them our van.

I agree - I don't know how we survived before!

Yup! I guess they could be expecting aliens. When we're on the way to visit friends I tell them not to be alarmed when they see the spaceship pull up their house - that's us.

According to a widely circulated email, we're both "older than dirt"! We both remember things like no television, no fast food, and headlight dimmers on the floorboard.....................

We have an unimproved Chevy conversion van. We just take out the captains' seats, put the back seat down, plop a mattress on it, put the cooler between the front seats (take out the console), throw in the screen tent and bare neccessities for camping, and we are off! Love the freedom but will probably have to add more after retirement when we can travel longer. We are 62 and 60, married 40 years, and still looking for unseen vistas and new adventures. Don't let ages influence your perceptions of groups of people. Age is an attitude (except when hiking or listening to rap)! :-)

My Roadtrek served me very well for a 5-year stint as a solo
fulltimer! Yes, I'm retired (70 now); but met lots of people
of all ages with B's. One couple amazed me when they stated
they spent about 6 months each year in their B in Mexico.
He was 6' or so. When I asked how he got a good night's sleep,
he replied he spent as much time as possible in the beautiful
outdoors and then curled into a fetal position for wonderful
sleep.
I was always thrilled to see another Roadtrek on the highway
and we'd waive or flash our lights. A retired couple (both
on the short side) spent 6 months in Texas each winter in
their RT.
If you, or others, are traveling alone I highly recommend
visiting and/or joining Loners On Wheels. The name means
each person is single and has their own rig. There are
chapters in nearly every state and most have open campouts
once a month. Visitors are always welcome - 2 or 3 times
before they hope you'll make up your mind to join.
I admit I was somewhat surprised to see single men in RTs.
Usually I saw women or couples. The couples were usually
only going on relatively short trips.

Enjoy!
