If you are planning on coming from the East on Nebraska Route 12 from Crofton you might think again and go to the South Dakota side as we had a lot of rain in NE the last few days and the road is closed presently about 3 miles East of Niobrara. So come over to SD and take #50 West out of Yankton till you get to #52 and turn left to Springfield. When you get to the next stop sign turn Left on #37 and follow it around Springfield and it will get you back to Nebraska #12 and after the bridge turn right and through Niobrara and on West to the park.

See you all soon.

Sorry about this late post.

We are fueled up, cleaned up, packed up and ready to head out early tomorrow morning. Google Maps says about 6-1/2 hours of driving time for us. I should check to see what Dory, our GPS, thinks.

David,

I'm also starting out early tomorrow. Maybe we'll see each other on the road! Are you going I-35 to I-90, or is that too far back for you to come? I'm about 5 miles east of where I-35 splits into 35E and 35W, so it's a no-brainer for me. Not packed, just now draining my water tank to rinse out and refill, and so I better get to my chores!

See you tomorrow!

Marty

Marty,

I'm just now checking the GPS but I am sure where we are we will go down 41 to US 169 to Mankato. We will also then meander somehow over to Pipestone National Monument before heading to Niobrara. It is a 6 hour trip if we go straight to Niobrara. So I am assuming Pipestone will add about 3 hours minimum. If we leave really early like about 6 AM we should be in Niobrara by 4 PM.

Hwy #12 in Nebraska is now open. The cheap gas and diesel is on that road about 3 miles East of Niobrara. Feather Hill is the gas station and it is by the Casino.

There are about 7 units at the campground now. I just delivered the wood.

Mystery People are THERE!!!

I can be found in the city center of Wgtn. MN. for those of your a'travelin I-90 to Nebraska. Its about 3 minutes off the interstate. If need a resting spot....there is a great camp ground in Worthington-Olson Park. It is adjacient to Lake Okabena. The city and lake that will be hosting the 2008-United States Windsurfing National Championship the following week. Stop by and say hi!

Got home last night about 10:30 P.M. Drove through some high winds and light rain but no big storms. Southern Iowa got hit pretty good and we showed about 1/2 inch rain (typical shower for Niobrara .)

Thanks Gary, Jack and Judy for a really great time. Your special surprise was just wonderful! I also loved the fact we were able to get so much campfire time despite the showers that came and went.

What a nice park! I took some time on Wednesday and drove around the three mile loop and got some photos. Maybe David will post some of his here for everyone to see what they missed. I would post mine but my camera isn't nearly as good as his. Met a couple of young locals fishing up there. Nice young men who also happen to be lifeguards at the pool. They didn't catch anything that day but said they had caught a couple of nice bass the night before. It seems the fish have always been running just before I get there .

Hope everyone makes it home safely and see you all again soon.

It is OVER???? Sorry about that!!! Was very nice because of ALL YOU PEOPLE, and I really mean that. You can plan something but if no one comes...it ends up poorly...I fully enjoyed doing what I could and seeing smiling faces from the small effort. At least it rained when most people wanted to sleep in and was cool with little harsh winds. That is unusual for the area I might add.

Everyone was out and gone by 10 am and hope all have a safe trip. We left about 11 am and was SO QUITE and LONESOME!!!

Till we meet again at another BEE SOCIAL GROUP get-together we will have these memories to inspire the next one.

It was INTERNATIONAL and I think we had 16 States that were represented.

Hope each posts when they do get home and lets the BEE SOCIAL GROUP that that part of it is OKAY!

Many are still traveling and some probably will not be "home" for a couple of weeks.

PTS Wednesday was very good...glad it was suggested and the FLY WAY CAFE could accommodate us with good food.

I have not seen John and Susan McNeil but I am sure they will have many words of enjoyment that THEY had doing the music. Laddie is still looking for PERKINS...since it is only collapsed buildings remaining....

Today we are under Tornado Warnings and winds...I hope no one has to travel via that area. Glad you got home Michael and are safe. There will be pictures posted and either here or on another site with an address to go and see them.

Thanks again...BEE SOCIAL GROUP...we are now all Founding RV'ers of this group. More to follow!!!

Experience is the thing you have left when everything else is gone.

We arrived safely at Pat's and like Gary,we're lonely for everyone. The campfire and coffee time were terrific. Tuesday night was the best-good music, good food ,lots of laughter and good friends. Louisiana Larry-I still like you even after snatcho bingo. So, to those we didn't say goodbye to because of the rain-it was great seeing you and look forward to the next time.
Gary and Judy-job well done--this Bee thanks you!
Tommie
