We made it home quickly and quietly yesterday around 6:00 PM. I want to offer a big "Thank You" to Gary for his work as leader to provide 20 or so rigs with a great 4-5 days. He managed to provide weather that added to the fresh air feel. WOW, what a campground! The bison and elk tour, the pot luck, the barbeque, and the entertainment were just right - allowed time at the campfire for a relaxing social event. There are others to Thank as well - Jack, Judy, Sally, & Ron for working with Gary on many aspects. Marilyn for coffee and everyone else for being friendly, welcoming, and showing willingness to pitch in. It does not get much better than that. We left feeling that we were leaving friends we had known for years.

Hello, all! We are not exactly home -- but back to the Pie Lady's house near Chicago. We had a half-marathon drive back here through wind/rain/and weather yesterday -- slept hard through all the bad thunderstorms in the area in the night, and are up now -- reliving all the wonderful memories of the last five days with such wonderful B/B+/C Bee Socialites that gathered at that beautiful Nebraska location -- awesome is an overused word in these modern times -- but the Creator's imagination certainly showed in the artistry of that location.

Thank you to Gary and Sassy for being such wonderful hosts -- firewood, planning, hauling, surprising, organizing, building up fires at 4 am, not melting the cooking tripod, smiling, putting up with our rowdyness, and so forth.

Thank you to each for making the effort to come...

to Sandy and Julie for the coffee and groceries and ice cream for all...

Jack and Judy for what we hear were great pudgy pies! And for the usual 49 tolerating of our 49 humor! And for the wonderful dance to the McNeil duo...

Sally & Ron for all the Bees and the "horseshoe" game, the sugar & creamer for morning ca-fee...

Larry & Lory for your smiles and sense of humor (sorry we just missed you on the way out!)

For everyone for making the Snatcho a happy time (even when Tim kept taking my cactus!!!)...

Anyway -- there is much to say; but for this day I will leave it that I treasured my time with each of you. I have carried home a pocketful of memories which I will live on "until the again-seeing".

Oh my goodness, it was hard to watch everyone leave the Social.

We are very excited to be charter members of the Bee Social Group. It was a wonderful group and so great to see new and old friends! When we left we were all old friends and some have plans to meet again at another Social!

We headed West on 12 and found the weather Gary was talking about! Now we are at the Valentine, NE library checking the weather and will drive only another hour before stopping. The wind and rain makes driving difficult.

Thank you Jack, Judy and Gary for such a great Social!

Pat and I are in Council Bluffs with our daughter's family. We had a great time. Thanks to everyone, especially Gary for all of the work to make it a great social. I think we were extremely lucky with the weather. It could have been a lot wetter with a lot more wind. We will be headed home Sunday. Have some good photos that we will post later.

Just got home and what a drive it was! It rained very hard about 90% of the time and drizzled the other 10%. The lightning show was incredible! All the way from Yankton to Sioux Falls there was constant lightning that was a little too close for comfort, and I actually saw one bolt that hit the ground across a field about 1/4 mile from me. There was a huge fireball where it hit the ground...don't know if it hit a power line or if they just do that when they touch ground. Anyway, since I made it through safely, I'm glad I got to see it. Awesome sight!

I echo everyone else's thanks to Gary, Judy and Jack for the planning and to everyone that helped out while there to make it a very successful outing.

Hope those of you that haven't checked in yet are safe and dry.

We just got home after two days of dodging and tiptoeing around interesting weather. We drove very slowly waiting for a dark cloud to cross the highway in front of us and found the road two inches deep in golf ball size hail when we got to where it had been. Cassie's looking forward to the next chance to fix marshmallow desserts for such an appreciative group. Cathy enjoyed her coming-out party and we're all looking forward to Moab in the fall.

We are sitting in the wind in a campground in Sterling, CO. We sadly left Niobrara this morning....twice. Jack had to remind me, 'when it is over, it's over'!

Many thanks to Gary, who provided each of us with an opportunity to have such a good time....the constant campfire, Pot Luck, the Elk & Buffalo Ranch covered wagon ride & tour, the Buffalo BBQ, which included a phenomenal view, live entertainment, and the opportunity to play Snatcho Bingo. And, on Wednesday, the Fly Way Cafe, which accomodated 33 or more of us, and Davydd's request for Pork Tenderloin Sandwich's. Wednesday evening was sharing of snacks, leftovers, and Pie Iron Pies. Most important, was the weather. He must have 'done something right' for the weather was wonderful.

Pat, the pie lady, baked 2 pies a day for a week to provide us with dessert, and Marilyn, made coffee for the early risers. Sally and Ron provided all of the BEE bags & 'extras'. Pam & Tim had ANYTHING and EVERYTHING anyone needed or wanted in their 'B'. (including 2 shelters.....where did they find the space?) And so many others worked (and played to make this BEE Social fun and successful).

We may not have another chance to post until we arrive home next week. I promised a recipe, a list of correct sites and names to David, and photos to everyone. Sharon and Bob promised to send out the email list, and I will send the KodakShare link early next week.

Jack & I are looking forward to the next Social...hopefully Moab, if not ??????

Sitting in a library parking lot in Eldora Iowa. We lucked out weather wise so far and only had rain last night.
What a fantastic Social it was.
Marilyn ....Dick ended up with the cactus and he will take good care of it.
It is now sitting in the cup holder of DABEE.
Stay safe all that are still traveling home.

OK -- glad to know the cactus got a good home! I will have to visit Jack & Judy's big cactus in AZ along with "Buffalo Bob" when we head down there in 2010...
