We have sway control on our fleetwood E3, weighs about 4,000lbs loaded. We pull it with a Montero SPort XLS 4WD.
Pulls nice and smooth, no sway at all with the sway control installed.
I also have a 2" lift with HD (stiffer) springs with a progressive rate coil that is designed to be loaded down. It only squats about 2" in the rear.
Sway control is very nice in windy conditions and when passing/being passed by 18-wheelers.

We pull a 2003 Westlake with a Class 2 hitch. The previous owner included the sway bar, so we use it. This past weekend, as we moved 30 miles between CG's, I left it off to see how it handled. Frankly, I couldn't tell the difference - but it was a calm day on four lane highway. Don't know if I could say the same thing on a windy day going down a busy two lane - but with the sway bar, it's always rock solid.
As has been said here before, you should fix the reason you have sway before you mask the problem with a sway bar. I will continue to use ours simply because it it isn't much bother, and I like the insurance.

No sway control here. I have towed the Sequoia almost 10,000 miles and never have had a sway issue. It tracks like an arrow. We did have one when we had the Coleman Mesa.

No sway control yet , but I am strongly considering it. I can tell the difference in sway by the way the trailer is loaded. My first few trips out, I was very conservative about putting anything in the trailer, and I had some sway at times, mostly going downhill , more going downhill into a curve. Now I put as much heavier supplies as I can in front of the axle, and the sway is much less.

I have a 1998 Viking 2470ST and had some sway whenever I went over 60 mph. I don't have a sway bar. I heard they should not be used on the Vikings. Is this true. Has anyone else had this problem.

What is not recommended by Viking is a weight distribution hitch. A sway control is a different animal. BUT, first thing is to weight the trailer and tongue to make sure you've loaded the trailer correctly so at least 10% of the trailer's gross weight is on the tongue.

I used to have sway problems when towing with a mini-van. I now tow with a truck and the sway problems went away. Having a heavier TV and a longer wheel base make a BIG difference. I don't even have to try to balance the tongue percentage with this setup. Absolutely no sway with this combo.

Use a sway-bar . . . you won't regret it. Cheap and works superbly. I do wonder about the discussion surrounding Class II receivers. Most tow vehicles with factory packages have Class III hitches. Occasionally I see smaller ones, especially on Explorers, but I think you would be wise to stick with Class III. Stronger, many accessories, etc. I recommend the DrawTite Friction Sway-bar. You will also need the adapter plate that goes on your hitch bar that holds the sway-bar's smaller ball. My trailer tows like it is attached to my Jeep.
