Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has camped @ Quartz Mtn SP in OK? I would love any feed back or pics you might have of this area. I can't seem to fine to many pics of the campgrounds up there. Thanks for your help.

It's been a few years since I was there, but it is a nice area. The campsites are long, wide, shaded, firepits, full hookups, near or on the lake. There are several different areas around the lake to camp. Deer will probably come wandering through the camp in the early morning and evening.
The lodge has an excellent restaurant. (At least when we were there) A Google search turns up a ton of information, some of which is below:

I lived in Altus for 15 years and have many summers camping at Quartzs Mtn. There is a north shore camp ground that is nice and also the campgrounds on the lodge side of the lake. The lake can be low during late summers as they use it for irragation. Lots of wild life. Watch out for rattle snakes in this area. Don't normally see them in the campground but might if you do any rock climbing. Great lodge.
If you have a large trailer you might call ahead to see if any spots are available, when we drove over to look at the park seems as though it would be difficult to park a large trailer, however there may be more spots I am not aware of. Seems like I remember the trees were not trimmed too well to pull something big in and out. Hope this will be of benefit to you! Yes, the Lodge is new and great place to eat!
I grew up in this area and spent many many days and nights there. It's a gorgeous place and right now the lake is FULL! Go enjoy it, you won't regret it.
I live in Altus, and Quartz Mountain is beautiful. The lake is very full right now. Lot's of water activities. Beautiful camp sites shady, green different from Altus and what you would expect from the SW OK. We haven't camped their but have visited someone who has. Reason why we haven't camped there is we have dogs that we have to get a sitter for, so we try to go farther. I don't think you can make reservations, but not sure. The lodge has lots of conferences going on during the year. The lodge is nice and right there w/a restaurant. Prices range around $10 to $28 for lunch and dinner and are okay. Quartz Mountain is no longer owned by the state, the college now owns it. The campground is easy access north of Altus. Here is the web page with info. www.quartzmountain.org or info@quartzmountain.com
Hope that helps you. If you need any other info let me know. Deb

We stay there at least once a year when visiting our son. There are 5 or 6 very long sites that will take any size rig, then about a dozen that are probably 40 or 50 feet in length, and than maybe a 100 that are water only or no hook ups. All are first come first serve. We can stay at the FamCamp on Altus AFB but much prefer Quartz Mountain.
