79 Powerwagon - yes, after flushing, not that much water remains in the bowl. You really just need enough to keep a seal and prevent odors from drifting back up.
We just add a bit more water to the bowl before using. We have a sprayer attachment to use to help clean the bowl if needed. If your toilet doesn't have one, I suspect you can buy a kit to install one yourself if you wanted to.
However, when the flush is finished, there is only about 1/2 cup of water in the bowl. Is that "correct" or "normal", or should it be more? It's an old plastic toilet in my 1973 tioga. No manuals at all for this rig...
Yes its normal. Remember this is not like a standard at home toilet, hence you always need lots of water to flush. You should never let the bowl get completely dry either as the seals will dry out, and you don't really want to have to replace them.....
