I had a problem with a campground and only discovered this site after. I have found allot of useful information on this site. Had I came here first, I would not be out a bunch of money. I would have know Westport Beach Rv/ Wages creek has a no refund policy and very rude staff from the comments of other people. It doesn't say so on their web site and they never said anything to my husband, but I found out after I tried to cancel the reservation that they charge you when you make the reservation and then your out the money if you cancel. A few people on here had that same thing happen. Keep up the good advice, thank you all for posting!

I was turned onto that site awhile ago and I just love it! Everything I have seen has been right on the money.

I use it all the time because Trailer Life doesn't mention little things like "is situated downwind of a feedlot" or "Is located next to a busy railway".

But sometimes I DO discount a "gripe" I might read about a park owner - one place we recently stayed at had received a less-than flattering post about the owners - who we found to be friendly and warm, and gave us directions to some truly scenic drives.

I hope you signed up so you too could give a review. The more folks review a campground the better is it for everyone else.I signed up recently and put my two cents worth in-good or bad.

I like it and have posted about 10 reviews total. I may be paranoid, but there seems to some manipulation going on there. I am referring to CG owners or family that "pad" the good reviews for some poor CGs. I guess you have to go by the sheer numbers and make then your decision. It is a coin flip when there have been multiple bad reviews, then some months later a good review comes in. Did they really change or did a friend post a review. Like I said, I read the reviews closely and I question some of them. But I still may be paranoid.

Ditto! I've found this site AND RV Park Reviews invaluable. Wish more would post their reviews. Not all campgrounds are listed there, so it's a toss-up when they're not listed.

You're not paranoid, you're realistic. Take everything with a grain of salt. Use other sites like this one and Woodall's ratings to validate what RV Park Reviews has. I've found by doing that we've gotten a pretty accurate "picture" of what a given CG is all about. And of course I post my own reviews when I can to hopefully help others.
