If you join Good Sam Club they offer trip routing which will show campgrounds on your route.

As mentioned above Good Sam's Club.

Microsoft's "Streets & Trips" map software has a large number of campgrounds in their "Show & Hide Places" with addresses & phone numbers.

Woodall's have a nationwide web CG data base plus they sell nationwide and area directories that provide even more info.

If I were you I'd go out and buy a copy of either the Woodall's or Trailer Life Campground Directory. These two publications will offer more options for stopovers. Good Sam's Club offers good trip planning with some RV Parks listed. Whatever you do don't trust Microsoft Street and Trips for campground information, many of the campgrounds are listed in incorrect locations and many others aren't listed at all.

another option is www.rvthereyet.cc. You can put in the town or zip code of where you plan on spending the night and it will give you a list of local campgrounds.

Good Sam and Trailer Life are a must, Passport America can be ok and also can stick you in the most undesireable spot in the park if you don't watch out. Even though you didn't say where you were going-reservations, reservations, reservations!!! We have been amazed by the number of RV's that come in the different parks with out them. One weekend we heard the clerk telling a couple that they would call the next RV park they thought might have a spot, it was only 60 miles north of where they wanted to be!

I like to check www.rvparkreviews.com. I use the Trailer Life Book to check out the campgrounds I find with Microsoft Streets & Trips. I have to say that we have found our new Garmin NUVI 350 invaluable on our 3 month trip this summer. We use the Streets and Trips to plan out several days in advance and the NUVI for the current day while we are actually driving. Also use the NUVI once we are in a campground to find the closest Wal-Mart, Restaurants, Chamber of Commerce, tourist attractions, etc. I was really resistant to getting the NUVI, it was nearly $400 and I didn't think we needed it but wouldn't be without it now.

AAA also has state maps that show where campgrounds and RV parks are located and what kind of amenities they have. The maps also include what type of campground they are(state, private, county etc). As well as the campground name and the phone #. They are really very useful.

A lot of times I will get the campground name off the map and then go on-line and do a simple search to see if they have a web site and then find out more information about that campground.
