Yellowstone Valley Inn is where we are base camping for our day trips to Cody, Beartooth Pass, etc.

Couple of changes have come up. One, we may be taking my parents '05 Discovery DP instead of our 5er. Advantage to this is that we will not have to make as many bathroom breaks for the DW! We will have to rent a car once we get to each of our stops, though. I do not plan to tow one that far.

Second, we have decided to stay at the Ponderosa Campground in Cody rather than Yellowstone Valley Inn. Puts us right in Cody and the webpage for them looks nice.

Thoughts?

Ok, here is an update. The plan was to take the Discovery MH down instead of my rig due to the fact we could make better time, etc. However, after driving it down to Daytona this past weekend and it checking in at 6.8 MPG, I am having second thoughts!!! I have gotten up to 13 MPG in my combo, which is double what the Discovery gets! What do you guys think?

Oh, and I was not even towing a car down to Daytona, but planned to out west!

Let's see now, 2100 miles / 24 hours drive time (8 AM - 9 PM x 2 days - 1 hour each day for pit stops) = 87.5MPH. Considering the two extra hours for time changes, you might just make it. Let us know your route so we aren't on the same highways.
If you are dead set on the trip, Glacier is at least a 4 day tour and Yellowstone a week to do it right. If you go to Yellowstone, a couple more days to see the highlights of Grand Teton is a must. We spent 4 weeks in '01 and could have spent 4 more. Of course we allowed 1 week each way for travel.

Just don't think you can do all you want to do,(or what others want you to do) but if you at least visit Yellowstone, maybe not to the extent some would like you too, at least you will have seen the highlights of it. Glacier is beautiful but not worth the time it would take to get there on your schedule, the same with the Teton's, would leave them for another time and concentrate on Yellowstone.

But it's the law in Wyoming that you have to see GTNP if you Go to YNP
It's in the rules and regulations...

That is some really hauling to get to Mt,or Wy. in the time you are allocating. I am heading to Spearfish, SD in June and from where I live in N. Ga. it is about a three day trip.
