Hello,
I am looking at a cargo trailer with living quarters. Does anyone have any recommendations? I would like to hear from current and past users. I am looking for gotcha type items. The must haves and the don't do's. The best brands and the don’t touch.

Thanks.

PS (Possible..Sorry!) If I posted this twice, I could not find the one I thought I posted.

I have the Work and Play 34ft 5th wheel and just got back from two weeks in the Black Hills and truly love this toy hauler. I carry two street bikes. This unit has a cargo capacity of 5,000 lbs. The unit is built like a tank. Only draw backs are the lack of insulation in the walls, no enclosed belly or heated holding tanks. If you don't do winter camping this is not a problem, although we have camped in it in the winter and was confortable but would not be in below freezing weather. Work and Play has a new 38ft SL model that I saw at Strugis that is awesome. It has a 12ft slide out and comes standard with trail air pin box and trail air supension. You will need a F450 or larger to tow it though as it has a 21000 lb GVWR and an almost 4000 lb pin weight. You can see an online brocher for all the Work and Play models at their web site. Just type in work and play.

I would suggest the mirage balboa. They look killer. enclosed heated underbelly. You can also get double insulation.

Have you tried a horse trailer mfg? They make any lenght and width you want. Oklahoma City has a lot of trailer mfg. Aluminum trailers will run about $70,000 new. Good Luck.

My CT to TH conversion is working out fine! If you get one with lap-joint seams, make d____ sure they're taped joints. And, I ended up with everything I wanted---not what some mfg. demographics said everyone wanted!

How big are you looking at?

I have a LITTLE GUY SPORT and haul my ATV and dirt bikes with it as well as store a bunch of other******in the cabin (interior gun rack, cooler, grill, etc..)

It's got a king sized sleeping area...don't know if that helps at all...I guess it just depends on the size of your toy.

Thanks for the inputs so far. I haul three full size utility quads currently and would like some extra room. I would like 8.5' wide by 26' to 30' depending on the cost and layouts. I figured we could just use cots inside the trailer once we're setup so sleeping quarters is not really an issue. I was more concerned about the low ride height of the trailers and hanging up when getting into the back country and the fresh H2O and holding tank sizes. I am taking a month long tour next July to Utah and Colorado so I want something that will work. We currently have a Fleetwood Scorpion 1 that has a nice camper on it and it can haul my three quads but, if you have to camp and then haul the quads to a trail head, that means breaking down camp just to move the quads and that is way too much of a pain.
Keep the reports coming in. Thanks.
