I would try with just the factory springs and go from there. Looks like that camper is probably around 4k wet and ready which is probably right around the trucks rating. The one nice thing about air bags especially with campers that have a slide and are usually heavier on one side is the ability to level the truck by having unequal amounts of air in the bags.

Try the camper without the bags first and see how it works. Ford upgraded the load capacity in 2005. Even on my previous 2004 truck it would support my 3000ish lb camper without any suspension add-ons (it did have the camper and snow plow prep packages though). My 2007 doesn't even sag to level.

I have a 2006 F-350 DRW PSD 4X4 with a 2005 Lance 981 (has slide as well). My camper is probably a bit heavier. I tried with the stock suspension and was shocked at how much the truck squatted with the camper loaded. I added a set of Timbrens a month ago and couldn't be happier. The truck is comfortable unloaded and rides level just barely touching the factory overload springs when loaded.

I've heard a lot of people commenting about the jarring that happens when the truck goes over tracks or a speed bump. This was my only cause for hessitation when buying the Timbrens. I have paid attention and have noticed absolutely *no* difference in ride quality.

Just my thoughts. Good luck with the new truck. I know I love mine.

I have a Lance 845 on my 3500 Dodge, it ways 3400 ready to camp. It just makes the truck level. No modifications. I also pull a 3000lb boat, still level.

oh, there's quite a difference in weights between our two campers. Mine is supposed to be just over 4,000 wet.

Hi,

Don't mean to jump in on your question to bradt but I bought a new A.F. 811S in mid July and on my way home from the dealer I stopped at a local CAT scale and had it weighed.......Over 3,300 lbs. completely empty with both propane tanks filled, no other fluids, and nothing else in the camper...just the way that it came from Northwood. Also no AC or generator.
This is a very heavy camper...don't be fooled by the fact that it's just a 9' camper. The factory sticker weight is 3353 lbs; so the actual vs. sticker weight is very close.
Hope this helps.
