How much louder is the 2800i than the 2400? It shows about 10 db. But what is that like real world?

Fill the Honda with gas, it is a heavy unit. I like mine but I have a hydraulic lift gate on my truck. I wouldn't want to pick it up. If it is permanently mounted weight may not be an issue. I run 15,000 BTU A/C units on my campers but not a vacuum or coffeepot at the same time. I absolutely love the remote control for the Honda. I highly recommend that accessory for whatever generator you get.

The decibel scale is not linear. A 10 DB difference is perceived by the human ear as being TWICE as loud.

Still not as loud as the cheap contractor models but still significantly louder than the fully enclosed ones.

I have started my Carrier with a single EU2000i but turning the fan on first then to AC. But as you can see from the specs I posted, my particular Carrier runs the EU2000i at max rated with no room for extra watts.

I also have a Kipor KGE3000TI which is the same specs as the EU3000i and it runs the Carrier just fine but it doesnt start it easy in eco mode. If I am not mistaken you can not turn eco mode off on the EF2400. The Kipor is heavy which is why I leave it on the slide out in the trailer. It can run the AC, 4 shop lights and a desk fan with some still left in it with out working hard. Our Carriers take alot of amps to get them going!

Last night I purchased a second EU2000I, at approx 55lbs full of gas it is easy to manage a pair of them and the combined size of both is roughly that of the Kipor, EU3000I, EF2400 and will provide longer run times and more overhead watts. If you dont need the AC then you can always just carry a single EU2000I, compact and light.

EF2400 is a sweet gen and serves many well and I allmost purchased it instead but in the end for my situation I felt the twins were a better choice.

Good luck with your choice.

I am adding more info about the yamaha EU2400si generator, I just returned from a trip to yellowstone, had full hook ups, but was wondering if my yamaha would run my AC at almost 8000ft, yes it did 13500 brisk air, had no trouble starting it and worked fine even on high fam, Worked great and just wanted to let folks know as I had remembered some discussion about working at higher elevation.
All I can say is worked fine for my AC.

I assume you have investigated using the Yami with a "soft start" capacitor changed out in the Carrier - unless a call to the factory assures that the A/C comes with one. I installed one in my Brisk Air 13,500 and there is reasonable power to spare once the A/C is running.

I have the honda...Good gen, but heavy as heck.... The yam is suppose to run the ac's, if it did, I would get it.... alot lighter..

Check the local yamaha place and bring your camper in, the dealers in my area would let me try it to see if it worked...

the honda and yamaha will be about the same in noise... When I bought my honda they gave it to me for under 1600, cant remember exactly what, but I bargained the price down at the local honda dealer.
