I think it would be useful to report the 5'er that they were being used on as well... especially in light of the recent tire replacement campaign by Keystone. We had 5 tires replaced and the vehicle has not yet left the dealer lot!
What are they replacing them with? I took the $80 each and upgraded to 16" XPS Ribs.
Don't know yet... I asked the salesman to check if the tires were subject to replacement. Meanwhile, I called keystone and learned that our tires would be replaced. Next call to the salesman I learned that the Keystone Outback had left the lot for tire replacement. Keystone did tell me if I replaced the 15" with 16" tires it would void the warranty on the 5'er...
I specifically asked Keystone when I requested the $80 per tire about any potential issues about upgrading to 16" and there were no issues other than potential clearance issues. The main reason I wanted the credit was to apply towards the 16" upgrade, otherwise I would have let them do the replacement and I could have save a bunch of money.
I will start a new thread on this, as this is for failure info only, sorry.
JIMLIN - yep, there seems to be a new thread almost every day.
Usually with the same problem/s, question/s.
Sometimes it's a newbie who doesn't understand the search feature.
Thought maybe a "tire -FAILURE- central".
Besides the summer heat and (more) travel in summer, I think the
influx of Chinese tires have a lot to do with it.
Treker2005 - not sure what you mean by, "has not yet left the dealer lot."
Does that mean its new -or- they are slow in replacing the tires due to the
Keystone recall?
If new, who "owns" the trailer a this point?
[If its yours, you probably can find a "non-Chinese" 15" tire . . Cooper?]
"tire failure central only" should somehow include TT and TH forum and maybe some of the other "towed" trailer forums AND leave brand bashing out.

Goodyear Marathon, one after pulling home from a hurricane run. Noticed a big knot on sidewall as wife and I were putting camper in the yard. Since it was late we left it, next morning while I was picking up debris from storm, it blew setting in yard. 2nd Marathon blew on trip to Daytona for Rally, had checked tires at rest stop about 5 miles back, when tire shredded. I think the 2nd blew the valve stem out. I have since changed all four tires and installed steel valve stems, as found evidence of cracking on the remaining old ones.
Goodyear Marathon, 2 years old, about 3K miles. ST 235/80 R16.
Tread seperated going up the last climb before heading down Rt 8 into San Dieg
Tire did not go flat it just lost the tread

We're in the process of buying an '07 Keystone Outback, should be closing on it this week. It's brand new.

GOODYEAR MARATHONS X 4 = Citation Supreme 27.5' overall length = 2003 model = 4 years old + 40,000klms = 24,000 miles = premature tread wear and two of them went soft on me on our trip this summer. These were load range D = 3042 max load at 65 psi = only a 6 ply tire = IMHO are to light a tire for a 10500# 5'er.
TOW MAX POWERKING X 4 = replace the Marathons with these new tires at Les Schwab tire in Missoulla, MT, during our recent trip = incredible deal at under $600.00 CAD total including balancing and installation = load rating E @ 3520# max load @ 80 psi = 10 ply tire which is a little over kill IMHO but then again ask yourself, can you ever have enough tire??
If Michelin had a RV trailer tire at the time of purchase I would have had a set in a NY minute but such was not the case. They have commercial trailer tires but none for RV trailers. I'm happy with the Powerkings and hope they last a while. Thanks Les Schwab, you da man.............
GreenBall Transmaster Radials X 2 (made in China) = ST235/80/R16 = Thor Wanderer 36' overall length = 2005 model = New = Coach weight 14,000 lbs = less than 1000 miles on new tires = one blew out causing coach damage and the other was showing bubbles in sidewall. = These were load range E = 3050 max load at 80 psi =
IMHO these tires are junk.
Replaced all five with Mich. XPS RIB (LT235/85/R16). My RIBS are holding up very well, no problem.
Greenball paid to have the bad tires sent in for inspection. They decided that the failure was not due to manufacturer defect and would not provide any type of refund.

SK - if thats a Michelin XPS Rib, any Michelin dealer (incl Wally) should
be able to order it.
I didn't try at Wally - got mine at Am Tire, but Cosco would have ordered it also.
