Join the club! I have been dealing with that same issue on my LF since it was brand new over a year ago...tried a seperate power supply...had to have it reprogrammed twice...very intermittent problem, it just wont initialize... but when it acts up, there is no cure for it..and then it will work fine the next day or so.I have a new board upgrade on the way that is SUPPOSED to fix the problem. Try just killing the power to it if you can and try it again tomorrow..good luck!!

Well we are in the same boat then. I guess I will have to throw in the stationary dish for a back up. I have had nothing but problems when I first got this system last Dec. it was in and out of the shop a few times. The dealer tried to charge me $200 to reprogram it each time. I told them for that price give me the software so I can do it myself or replace the system with a new one that works.
Can not help you with this failure but do have a suggestion.. On my coach I have a DVR, it has dual inputs so it can record two shows at once, thus I needed to double this advice but I put in a pair of antenna switches (Common A/B switches you can find in hardware stores) I also ran a pair of RG-6 cables, since my rig is a gasser the cables run down the "A" pillar (First pillar you come to as you move from the front to back) under the dash, through the firewall (Existing gromet) and into the engine compartment next to the brake (no chance of an enganglement) where I put a grounding block.. Switch to "A" as in ABOVE and I use the roof mount.. Switch to "B" as in Below and I use a ground mount (Tripod) I carry a couple of ground mount antennas with me ( BOW on a Hughes 2-way Sat internet dish and a second portable for "emergency" use)
Consider this for your next trip In my case, when I installed it I was not thinking of controller or dome failure (That came later) I was thinking of the nasty signal eating tree (that came first) however when the dome/controller failed... Man was I glad I had ALTERNATIVES!!!
It is like they tell you with computers: Do not plan on what to do IF your hard drive fails.... Plan on what to do WHEN your hard drive fails.
(I back up computers too)
