I am thinking of changing out my b/w monitor and camera to a color LCD monitor and camera. My existing also has one way audio, even though I never really use it the diesel is too loud. It should be an easy change out if I can reuse the existing cable. Have anyone of you done this upgrade? Any particular brand better than others?
Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks
Chuck

Not all cables for cameras/monitors are the same.
The difference is usually in the plugs used to attach the monitor & camera to the main cable.
The plugs/jacks are not always easily obtainable
On less expensive units they use a lot of 'RCA' jacks/plugs. I dont know what's used on you Rexhall. So you'd probably be wise to pull things apart and see what's used b4 you buy something.
You might check w/ Rexhall to see what they have and if it's got compatable plugs.
Good luck

I would suggest giving Tim a call at RVCams.com.

He seems to be a straight shooter and has helped many forum members with rear vision camera problems and upgrades.

Rexhall may be able to tell you what kind of cables your unit has, and that may simplify things, depending on what unit you purchase, however it is not a difficult task to run new cables if you have to install a different backup camera and monitor. I also own a Rexhall (1997 Aerbus 3250) and recently installed a backup camera and monitor (color). I purchased mine on ebay for about $250 shipped, complete with all necessary cables (60 ft.). I spoke with Rexhall technical support and the installation and cable runs they suggested were pretty straight forward and easy to do. We just completed a 54 day, 8200 mile trip from to Alaska and back, and the camera and monitor held up very well over some fairly rough patches of roads. PM me if you want any details.

I have a '97 Rexhall Aerbus 3300S, and I'm looking to buy a back-up cam. So how did you get the camera-to-monitor wiring inside the coach? Did you put any holes through the roof, or was there an access already available.

Also, which model and make of back-up cam did you buy?

Thanks!

Also consider Bestconverter I was asking about those too and turns out they have carried them all along. I need to get one fast as this backing deal is a pain in the ass. I'm great at it but like knowing what I'm running over!

Folks, COSTCO in California (but not in Virgia) has wireless full color back up camera packages for $79. Didn't think to check how far it transmits, as I was thinking "car" not RV at the time. If it will "go" as far as your RV is long . . .I'm thinking $79 is hard to beat. May even buy one to stick in the wreath at the front door . . .if I don't want to see my visitors . . .hmmm, not a bad idea.

Do a search on these $79 wireless cameras. I think you'll see why they cost $79.

I second RVCams and he will treat you fairly. He will help you swap out and use as many parts as possible. Refreshing to find someone as honest as he is.
