rubber boots...they cost about $10 a pair at wally world, and are worth thier weight in gold. put them on the kids (and yourself) in the morning when the grass is wet with dew, same for the evening, or when its raining or when you are near a pond or stream....I noticed other children wearing them after our kids had gone through three pairs of sneakers in an hour.

I agree 100%! We just got back from our last trip of the season and my girls wore them the entire time. Made it easy to slip off for potty breaks and also allowed them to splash in some puddles. We took old sneakers, but they were soaked within minutes...luckily, I had kept the rubber boots in the camper from an earlier trip!

You bet! They are best for camping. I can't tell you how many times it saved my kids from having soggy wet shoes all weekend. They love playing in light rain, or when we are by the lake and its not swimming weather yet...perfect!

Similarly, during the summer, we usually just pack 'crocs' for everyone. They do not keep your feet dry, but they are light, do not absorb water, and they are easy to slip on and off when going in and out of the RV.
God himself invented these things. :-)
Just my $.02 worth.

My son and grandson went camping with us when Michael was five. He spent most of the four days in the 6 inch deep "stream" behind our sites. He wore his rubber boots in the water and had a wonderful time sailing boats and twigs down his river.

I might need to get some of these as well. Perfect for protecting my feet when emptying the black and grey tanks. I'm not too good at it and SPLASH! LOL.

A rain coat and umbrella come in handy too!
But my best tip was something we learned this summer: Electric fry pan.
Yes, not traditional camping but what a pleasure.
