I have a question to ask ya'll about a problem I had this weekend. I could not get the slide to extend. After about 4 hours and countless numbers of tries it finally did go out. Then when we were closing shop it wouldn't close up. What 's the problem? The TT is only 1 year old. Thanks in advance.

A little more information may help you get a better response. For example, where you hooked up to shore power or trying to operate just off the battery? A low battery will impact the performance of a slide. Also, if you provide the make and model of your TT, other owners may have a solution for you.

Welcome to the forum.
You are going to have to provide a lot more information before anyone will be able to help.
What brand of trailer? hydraulic or electric slide unit? Were you plugged into the electric when this happened or just using battery power?
Give us a little more to work with and I'm sure someone will be able to help you.

Also, what happened when you pushed the button? Nothing? Noise of any type?

I have an Explorer by Frontier. I was plugged into an outlet at the time. And the button made no noise at all. Usually when I push it you instantly hear the slide out moving. I'm pretty sure the slide out is electric. Sorry for my ignorance.

Well this still may not be a terrific help but here goes. Your slide could well be electric, and the armature might have a bad spot in it. You know how a car starter doesnt work and you can whack it good, VIOLA it works. Your persistence on pushing that button might have moved the armature just a fuzz at a time until it finaly moved off the dead spot, then it worked.
Also you might just have a loose connection somewhere.
I may be way off on both accounts also.

I had the same problem with mine.
Eventhough I was hooked up to power, the slide did not move.. Well low and behold, the slide is connected directly to the battery, and the cables were loose.
I wiggled them, and VIOLA! Slide works. Tightened up the battery terminals, and its all good.
Try that. It might be the same as mine.........

I'll second checking the battery connections. My big slide wouldn't come in at random times even though the smaller slide would and then eventually after fooling with the switch in/out it would work. This would happen even when hooked to land power. My dealer said that the slide also required a fully charged battery. I checked the battery and found the negative cable loose. After tightening and charging the battery good, I've not had any more problems.

thanks. . I looked to see if the cables were loose and the weren't, Hopefully it's just that the battery is low. Anyone else have other ideas?

On the weekend I could not get one of my slides to go all the way in. The rv tech said it is off centre. The bolts ont he one side have loosened. This can happen from factory to dealership. It's an easy fix but it takes two guys. Keep us posted.
