I kind of tacked this on to another post, but would like input from those who may have added an exhaust brake and torque converter controls.

I have an '01 7.3l dully and pull a 31'tt and carry 2 atv's on the bed. My truck has no engine/exhaust brake and it is a white knuckel experience keeping the speed down in the mountains of CO. My trans. also heats up on the downhills. I'm looking at adding an exhaust brake and torque converter control system which I'm told will keep my trans. from slipping and getting hot on the downhills w/ the exhaust brake. Will I get any help on the uphill side?

SP Diesel makes an exhaust brake with the ability to lock up the torque convertor. Go to www.spdiesel.com and take a look.

Turbys_03_Stroke, do you have this exhaust brake on your truck? I'm wondering what is the difference between this SP brake and a BD diesel brake which actually has a butterfly valve assembly, etc. and costs a lot more??
