We have just purchased our Seneca, these are some of the items we are taking issue with.

1. The exterior light is terrible, there is one light by the door which is blocked by the slide out and does not cast any light under the awning.
2. The inverter is hooked up to the TV which the ignition switch disables, meaning the kids are running the generator all of the time.
3. The awning is so high off the ground that it will never give any shade execpt for at high noon.
4. The truck handles like a big marshmellow but I have seen lots of posts on this issue.
Thank you for any advice in advance.

Overbudjet;

I have an 07 35GS
1)I never really paid any attention to the exterior lights because I carry others that I plug in when I want to 'light up the patio'
2)The inverter is designed to power the front TV and dvd without the generator being on or being hooked to shore power. The ignition switch doesn't have to be on. Tell your dealer to fix it.
3)The awning is adjustable, just pull out the owners manual it shows you how.
4) Jayco replaced my rear springs because of the sag. What helped handling the most was the trac-rod from Hendersons lineup. This helped so much its hard to describe the difference. To top things off I added a Reflex Steering Stabilizer. Now it handles like a car, even on two lane high crowned roads in the wind. I bought the Reflex bracket and Stabilizer from a store on Ebay call MHRV the bracket number for the Kodiak 5500 chassis is RBK5 and the actual stabilizer is RSSA.

Once I got the drivability issues solved it is great. I just love the room when those opposable slides are out. Hope you enjoys yours too.

p.s. if you feel your Duramax could use more power and would like some MPG increase, talk to Dan Grant at Pacific Performance Engineering 714-985-4825

Thanks for tips, we had a 40 ft fifth wheel before that handled like a Ferrari compared to the Seneca, I will definitely take the advise.
One other item - the out door stereo has no reception, do I need to purchase some type of aftermarket aerial for it?

Overbudjet,

The outdoor stereo has a good aerial and they probably missed the wire on it also. Mine works just fine. I have an MP3 player that I have all my favorite songs on. I use one of those little FM broacasters that plug into the cigarette lighter and then braodcast my MP3 through the indoor stereo system. We were tailgating and I had my tunes going indoors. I fired up the outdoor system tuned the FM to 88.3 and low and behold I had my music going both inside and out masde for a good party atmosphere. My point being, I was surprised the outdoor system was able to pickup that weak FM signal that was being broadcast 25 feet away.

I performed a quick fix on the ignition override controlling the power to the TV of my Seneca. There is a 5 amp fuse located behind the kick panel on the driver's side. It's in a blue fuse holder. Just unplug the fuse and the television will work while the ignition is in the "on" position. It took less than 5 minutes, and can be easily reversed if you want to revert back to the original setting.

You may have already seen this post from another area, but I'll cut and paste in case you haven't...I took this member's advice and the process worked out fine.

-------------

The outlet to the TV and the DVD recorder is connected to the overide. Disabling the inverter cutoff is a piece of cake. It will only take about 15 mins. Do the following steps:

1. Disconnect shore and battery power. Take off the outlet cover in the TV cavity area.

2. Remove the 2 screws that hold the outlet in place and work the outlet out.

3. you should see a red wire coming out of a black plastic box glued on the back of the outlet.

4. There should be a connection clip from the red wire to a purple wire. Open the clip and disconnect the red wire.

5. Cap the wires and put back in.
