When you are setting the elevation and/or skew, remember, the nut and/or bolt head is NOT the alignment mark. You must use the leading edge of the bracket as the alignment mark.
Many times this mistake had been made.

IF direc had cut off your access. You get a "You have not paid for that" message
Try two things.. One check the dish type (Oval or round) make sure it's set properly
Two, PRESS THE RED BUTTON (Reset the receiver) or do the menu settings reset - - - thing.
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Check the elevation setting on your dish. You can display the correct setting based on the zip code where you are camping. This is on the receiver's menu. I had a similar problem at a local campground, and the dish elevation had been knocked off its normal setting when I stowed it in the bay for transporting. The receiver locked on to some non-DirecTV satellite. You can also test by setting up your mobile dish at home with your home elevation setting and see if you get all the channels.

If your dish is a oval triple LNB check the azimuth, elevation & tilt for the zip code area you are in

Your are thinking of Sat-Mex 5 at 99, The direc receiver won't lock on it, and it's an American bird, HUGHESnet uses it. and Hughes paid to put it up there. It is called "MEX" cause... Well, I suspect it's south of Mexico, just like 110 is south of Az and 119 is south of just west of LA

Reading through I noted you used a meter to test strength, however I did not see where you used a compass. If you don't its very easy to get a strong signal, however it might be on the WRONG satellite. The other problem solving ideas are valid for certain problems.

I've had the same problem and Dakota Ted's suggestion worked for me everytime. Just remember, it takes the system awhile to find all the channels, maybe 10 minutes.
