It looks like a take off on the Dodgen Industries "Born Free" (BF-20) units of the 1970's which were made in Humboldt, IA. However they had much smaller tires and wheels than the one shown by the OP. From the photos that I have seen, there were some springs on the axles that looked like they kept the tires straight but allowed for turns.
I have been looking for information on the rear axle and suspension for an idea that I have had for quite a few years. But with other things, I put it away, until about 3 months ago when they started pipping up on the net. Only recently have I really started to do some research, with not to much luck.
