It looks like a take off on the Dodgen Industries "Born Free" (BF-20) units of the 1970's which were made in Humboldt, IA. However they had much smaller tires and wheels than the one shown by the OP. From the photos that I have seen, there were some springs on the axles that looked like they kept the tires straight but allowed for turns.

I have been looking for information on the rear axle and suspension for an idea that I have had for quite a few years. But with other things, I put it away, until about 3 months ago when they started pipping up on the net. Only recently have I really started to do some research, with not to much luck.

I would think if you need this much room you would go with a 5er or conventional trailer. This seems like a trailer to me.

I wonder if you can still tow a trailer with either one of those units and, with the aft axle, what kind of tongue weight could be carried?

I've had this thought of an articulating (two-section) TC with an aft axle going through my head for years. Choo choo, baby!
