I have a 2007 HR Ambassador and when it's parked and plugged into 120 volts the inside panel alternately reads 9 and 10 amps. Of coarse I have a battery switch to cut it all off, but would like to know what's up with the 9 and 10 amp reading. What am I missing? It has been plugged up for a week now and it still reads the same.
Next item is about being treated as if I was a good loyal customer, when all I needed was a warrenty item looked at and fixed if possible. The wife and myself were traveling from Denver, CO to Hot Springs, AR with one of the furnaces inoperative. Tried to have it fixed in Denver but the RV dealer was booked up. It was Friday and it would be the next Tuesday before they could look at it. Said they would have to order any parts if they were needed. Was leaving Monday so that didn't work out. Called Monaco and they gave us the name of some HR dealers on our way to Arkansas. Finally a dealer in Norman, OK was booked up but said they would be glad to work us in if we could get there by two thirty. We got there, FLOYD'S, around noon and they were having their Thanksgiving office meal. You guessed it. Everyone around got turkey and all the fixing, including us. The tech, I think his name was Mike, seen some loose trim and fixed it with a smile. I also ask him a few questions we had about the RV that had come up on our first long trip, 30+ days, and he had a knowable answer for each. We left happy and everything was working.
PS The RV was bought in Indiana, not Oklahoma.

Is the refrigerator on automatic? It will shift to electric from propane.

The refer pulls about 4 amps (4 door or side by side). The Inverter/charger pulls about 2 to 6 amps depending on the status of the charge. Doug

try turning the refer to off and see how this changes the amp readings. Make sure the water heater and emergency heat in water compartment is off and as well as all lights. Make sure your compartment storage lights are off and engine heater is unplugged. This should basically leave the charger the only thing running. see what mode the charger is in... after a week on so on shore power, it should be on standby or float using about 0-3 amps. turn your charger off... if you are still drawing amps, something is amiss.

Thanks everyone. It was the block heater. Just didn't think to check it.

Which line is it measuring..

I have a Xantrex Prosine 2.0 in my ride, it has it's own battery bank but in a pinch it can parallel with the regular house batteries. If I were to flip the proper switches it would be providing power to the house, this includes charging the house batteries and running furnace, and the controls for AC, Fridge and Water heaters. also any and all lights inside the rig (Save one indicator) The Propane detector and even providing power to the chassis parasitic loads, radio memory and such, also assorted radios that are hooked to the house battery (Ham and CB) 8-9 amps is not out of line with the loads.

Second are you sure it's 8-9 amps and not 0.8 to 0.9?
