I am returning home from Glacier N.P. and considering going south pass billings, Montana and then to Denver and taking I70 East to St. Louis and Kansas City. Is I70 a pretty decent road. I didn't want to take I90 and have to travel in a six day time frame. Using a 23 footer travel trailer!

Like to get some opinions.

2nd question;

Best cell phone service for traveling to Jasper and Banff, Canada. or is better to buy a pay as you go phone from Walmart? Got sprint and don't think its going to work.

3rd Question: Does any one know of how to get the book that has all the list of Walmarts in the U.S.?

thanks for any help that can be given.

For phone service, we upgraded our Verizon to the North America plan when we were there.

For Wal Marts, just spend about $5 at any WM for their version of a (Rand McNalley ?) Road Atlas. They list them all in there

I-70 from Denver is a good road. There might be construction along the way. We travel it route all the time when we go to CO. You shouldn't have any trouble with 70. You can buy a Verizon plan that includes Canada, but it is expensive. Better off doing the pay as you go plan for Canada and using Verizon's America Choice plan for the rest. Haven't found anywhere we haven't gotten a signal except in some of the Nat Park areas.

I-70 is an excellent road through Eastern Colorado and Kansas but Missouri is pretty rough in places. Still the best thing going through Missouri though. Good luck / Skip

You better check the weather reports, big storm, snow and ice, passed through this past weekend and if you look at OR and WA there is a lot more coming. My advice is to go south ASAP via the most direct route. You already stayed too long.

You don't tell us your time frame?? But if it is soon (winter) I would go southwest to Missoula and take I 90 to Butte, then I 15 to Las Vegas, US 95 to I 10 at Blythe CA and east to FL. That will have the least risk of bad weather.
If you are on the east side of Glacier - go east to I 15 at Shelby and then ssouth. If you are travelling in spring/summer - lots of choices.

Cruiser is right. Get South below I-40 as fast as you can during a spell of clear weather, then go East. I-10 is your only ice free Interstate this time of year...and sometimes not even that. It is tricky just getting south from Colorado Springs this time of year. I'm super cautious and a careful planner and STILL have had some pretty slippery experiences. Mother Nature has a wicked attitude this time of year.
Good Luck -
