...in only 3 hours!

Why is this so hard? Well, the directions were not for our specific model, so that didn't help a whole lot.

Ours is completely white (no stripes), so we couldn't tell which side was out. To top it off, neither could the guy who placed the grommet holes (ours was pre-drilled, velcro attached and snaps when we brought it home). Apparently, he was thinking the same thing as us, and lined up the front piece with the plastic windows on the inside, and they really go on the outside. We found this out after finally giving up and calling Peco. They were very apologetic and admitted to not setting up one of these models before. They're sending out a new kit.

So, once we found out which side was out, all of the snaps and grommet holes didn't match very well. Ooops! We were finally able to get it all setup and it's a very nice addition. We will actually be in this room when we're awake alot more than inside.

Overall, we're very glad we purchased this item, and with Fleetwood's incentive offer, it's free.

And a perfect example of why I always recommed setting any AAR up at home rather than camping. Many camping trips were ruined and a divorce or two started over the original setting up of an AAR.

We bought a screen room from Peco when we ordered our Niagara. We haven't actually taken it out of the package yet but after reading your post, I guess we better check to see that the velcro is in the right spots- they placed all the velcro at the time of purchase. What was the incentive offer?? We bought at the fall camping show here in Atlanta but our "free incentive" was a deep cycle battery and a brake controller for the tow vehicle. I seem to remember years ago at one camping show they offered free or heavily discounted A/C.

We were in our front yard when we setup (thankfully!). We didn't even try to set it up when we camped last weekend, as we arrived after dark. We've setup enough tents and screen rooms to know better. That just leads to trouble.

Fletwood just announced the incentive for a free AAR. We were hoping for free A/C, but either works for us. We just bought ours last weekend. Freebies are good, as long as you negotiated price before those were "thrown in".

Forgot to mention that we found the remote control for the radio/cd player in the box that was inside the storage compartment under the couch. That will definately come in handy! We actually went to look at a replacement, just for that reason (remote).

Hubby also replaced the furnace thermostat with a digital one. The factory installed model required a magnifying glass and knee pads.

What brand of digital thermostat did you use? I thought about replacing that too because it is hard to turn the supplied one on and off. Funny about the remote. We found ours in the box as well. I don't know why Peco does that- seems like they would leave it out for show.
BTW, if Peco threw in a cheap sewer hose, replace it. Ours started leaking after two uses. I went back and bought a better one.

Hubby got the Hunter model 42999 thermostat, but it just barely fits inside that plastic box that the factory one was in. Put in your batteries before mounting it. Can't say that I recommend it other than it's digital and easy to use (no remote). Others here will probably recommend one that fits over the entire hole, but then you'd have to fashion your own mounting board. Your choice. Just make sure it's a millivolt system.

We've got a funny story on the sewer hose too.

I wonder if that's the reason they are giving them away for free? Or if they have permanently changed the design and eliminated the stripes on the outside?

Either way, it gets faster with more practice.

I've had my AAR for 2 years and it didn't have stripes. My initial way of telling inside from outside was the base ... the flap goes inside for the mat/carpet to secure and there are loops on the outer side for tent stakes.

If you start the assembly with the front panel, line up the grommet hole(s) then work your way around or to the ends, it sets up easier/faster.

I'm glad they didn't have the stripes on this one. It blends in better. Besides, depending on the color, it could have clashed with our bright orange bunk end covers.

Yes, we just need to practice more. We're camping again this weekend.

I installed my own Deluxe AAR for my class C and found it a little challenging to attach the "skirt" I needed to make sure our pets didn't wander under the rig and out when off leash. Finally got it though and I read somewhere (here?) that my window panels could switch; meaning the window flaps would be on the outside in precipitus weather and on the inside for ease of use in good weather.
