06 with over 40000 miles towing a 15000 pound 5th wheel and not one single problem. Do my own oil and fuel maint and have never set foot in the dealership since I bought it two years ago. Have read of many problems but have never talked to anyone in person that has had a problem. With as many 6.0's as there are on the road I'm sure there have been problems. This is my second PSD the first was a 99 7.3 with over a 150,000 and no problems. I think that most problems with the 6.0 were because of tuners. I would buy a F450 if I did't like this truck so much. My nose hasn't grown since I started this message so I guess I'm not a liar.

I know that I do not own one but I drive one at work. All I can say that our 03 has had a few reflashes, and one trany. Now we use these F450 for rescue at work and they have been worked increadibly hard. They have held up so far, other then reflashing and difficulty working on them. I would own one if I could afford it, even though I am a Chevy man. Oh one other issue with the current one is a rough idle at cold. It seems as though the engine drops a piston at times, anybody know what causes this?
Thanks,
Kris

I don't personally own a 6.0L PSD, but I have driven an '04 110,000 miles, so I feel that qualifies me to comment. (Just my $.02)
Q#1: Yes, it has had many, many issues. From small to large.
Q#2: Don't own a "first" one. But after the problems with aforementioned truck, I will only recommend to anyone else that considers buying one that it is still covered by a warranty.

From the experiences that I have had with the one I drive, I would suspect an injector is on it's way out.

Many Problems with 2003 6.0l, Picture still in profile. Had 126,000 miles when traded. Towed once under warrenty, 3 times after. DW was with me on last breakdown that cost $1,600. Everyone else had good luck with theirs. When it was running though, I loved it... Bought 2008 F450 crew cab 4x4 in Oct. 07 so far so good.
