Yes: Oil Leak bed plate gasket at 23,000 miles. Just hit 42,000 miles and have not had any other problems.

Yes: I would buy another one.

The one question I would like to see answered is: How many of the guys with problems also ran a tuner? Or, like creeper mentioned, will people actually tell the truth on this issue? All Dodge and GM owners that love to trot out 6.0 warranty costs for Ford seem to go quiet on tuners and bogus warranty repairs by FMC. I think 25% is a conservative estimate.

No tuner, wouldn't dare give Ford a reason to void warranty.

25 percent seems really HIGH. No one I know runs a tuner and most of my buddies run 6.0.

NO tuners on mine, was stock.. thats just a cop out, it may make it worse but they have problems with or without Mods. As far as telling the TRUTH... thats Funny because I know when I had My Powerjoke, even though I knew my friends were right and my truck was garbage I found every excuse to lie and say how much better this is and that is on my truck and hide the times I needed to get it fixed...SO that being said wonder how many are defending their trucks and sugar coating it....

Great thread, always ends the same.

It used to offend me...now it just amuses me.

Be right back, have to go look in the garage and make sure my
PSD is not dead.

2 min later.....

Well I am back. Looks like my Ford PSD is a lemon after all. I didn't think it would start after reading this thread, but sure enough it did. How can that be? I am calling the hot line in the morning and complaining that my PSD started and ran properly. I am so glad I checked this thread again.

NO offense, but that sounds like a personal issue. I'd be pretty loud if my truck was stock and I don't see the need to lie about it. It may still happen. Who knows? I won't chip it and I will maintain it to the max. Time will tell.

There are a ton of mod'ed 6.0's because lots of folks drank the kool-aid that the tuner sellers gave them when they came out.

The 6.0L is not an engine that you slap a Bully Dog on and then leave your tires every where. You need custom tunes, if any at all. Everyone should know that now, based on previous threads.

There are lots of posts on FTE (which is much more "honest" than Diesel Stop, IMHO, which has whiners that approach full-time and professional levels) where tuners are discussed at length and even some of the die-hard Ford fans have damaged their engines. There is an equal amount of discussion on why that is and what tuners are more conducive to the 6.0 and why. The FTE forum has a huge amount of info for any Ford PSD owner and I urge any of them to check out the site.

At the end of the day, you can go buy the truck that's the color you like from the big 3 and it's all the same.

Oh and I just went and checked as well and thankfully none of ones I had problems with managed to make their way back into my driveway.

With a late in the year 2003 no issues. My son in law now has that truck. My 2005 has been flawless.
I will wait and see what comes out later, but will stay with the Ford. Just not ready to trade or would definitely look at the 6.4.

Guilty, but none of the issues I've had were caused by the Superchip.

I was losing antifreeze (only when towing) from the time it was new and the rest of the problems were from fuel gelling.

2005 PSD with 35,000 miles. Transmission replaced at 29,000 miles - C clip problem recall. Otherwise no problems. Pulls 14,000 pound trailer easily.
Yes would buy another.
