Right now I have a Group 27 battery installed in a single battery box. Well I have found out when camping in cold weather the single battery won't last through the night when using the heater. Does anyone know where I could find a dual battery box? I want to fit two Group 27 or larger batteries in it. I have the plastic type now mounted on infront of my LP tanks.

On another note I decided to go the route of getting a generator and a second battery versus getting a catalytic heater for heating purposes. I felt more secure having a way to recharge the system.

Thanks!
Darren

You can buy them for around $65.00 or just use two individual boxes, as I did, for around $14.00. Good luck / Skip

I should think two singles would be the best idea. If one battery leaks, the other isn't sitting in the "soup". The economics seem to make some sense

As someone mentioned, I ordered mine from Allied. Here is the link:

Allied Battery Boxes

I have a Coleman 02 Utah CP popup and removed the one group 27 deep cycle battery box and replaced it with one of the allied boxes that hold two 6V Trojan T105's. One the best upgrades I did to my camper. Replaced all of the incandescent lights with LEDs and have never looked back.

I do mostly boondocking and needed the extra juice.

Good luck and stay safe on the road...

I never even thought about just using two of the single boxes. See, thats why I ask you guys.

Does anyone have a picture of two boxes installed on the front of their trailer?

I have never done one on a TT however, I did have a boat rack that I powered with a cable winch. I simply created a flat space large enough for the battery box(s) and put a front and back on the bottom that was just taller than the box lids. I then made a bracket from 1.25' by 3/8' flat bar that went from side to side through the base plat and put a pad lock on the ends of the flat bar so no one could lift the lid and nick my battery(s). Easy access and no ventilation issues.

When I went to purchase a single box to hold two batteries it was $95 (even though the site listed it at $47). Must be their popularity? The cheaper solution was to purchase from my local dealer two individual boxes to hold the 6 volt batteries I have. They were only $11/ea! It also makes it easier to store the batteries in the winter. I can leave them in the case and carry each one easily.
