One advantage to having been in the Artillery-I can't hear high-pitched sounds like that!! Would a simple shield like a piece of plywood or polystyrene insulation board between the generator and the MH help?

If you put your hand over the grill, the sound dissapears. Although, I suspect that is a good way to burn up a gen =P.

I did some experimenting directing the sound with 'sheilding', plywood in my case. It was pretty effective.

If you can't stand the 59.94Hz rap of over-modulated video, you should try the 15,750Khz whine of a flyback transformer in the TV. At 53 (I think) I can still clearly hear it across the room. In the 5th grade the school called "mom" because her kid's hearing was well beyond the capabilities of their equipment. It's top-end was somewhere around 60Khz. Mosquito repellers drive me nuts too. Although the generator doesn't bother me at all.

Sounds like a tight timing belt.

I don't think I have ever heard a Mosquito repeller. That is some pretty high pitch hearing.

Hope you can block it so you can enjoy your RVing more. Have a good one
