Happy Holidays, all.

Exploring options in and around the San Diego area for RV'ing this upcoming summer. I have found a couple of RV Parks via the internet and would love to hear any irsthand experiences/impressions.

The first one is Campland, www.campland.com, located on the north shore of Mission Bay, and the other is Mission Bay RV Resort located just a little west of Campland.

In the past we've spent several summers in Oceanside at Paradise by the Sea and find that scene a little on the tedious side-noisy trains, homeless people etc. We have 2 small children ages 2 and 5 and are looking for a more kid friendly/safe atmosphere.

Thanks in advance.

I think campland would be the choice. Its been a few years since I was there but I had three boys same ages as yours. They seem to like it . I stop going cause it became a little pricey. But your talking about san diego ,so what is not pricey..LOL

We were at Chula Vista Marina RV Resort last summer, and were not satisfied with the size of the spaces, or parking, so looked around at several other places.
If we returned to the area, I think we would return to Chula Vista. We first learned of it at RVParkreviews.com, and found that the other places we saw had greater negatives (for our needs). A place where we saw a lot of children was the KOA.

We usually stay at the Chula Vista RV Park...find the size of the spaces to be reasonable and a great pool. My only complaint is the excessive number of rules and signs saying what not to do.

I have heard alot of good things about Santee Lakes which you might also check out.

The last time we stayed at Campland was 3 years ago and it really looked like it needed to be updated and some TLC

The KOA is still open.

If I had children, the last two places on earth I would subject them to would be campland on the bay and Mission Bay resprt/ They are both drug infested, child moleters around everywhere, homeless, theives, etc. When an rv park has to hire outside security and the police constantly are called, well if it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck and .... you know the rest.

KOA Chula Vista is the premier park in diego , IMO
San Diego resort in LaMesa is the second.
Santa Fe Resort no 3

These are stickly my opinions and I GUARANTEE they conflict with others. But are based on experience.

Santee Lakes will be HOT in the summer. Chula Vista is a great place- they are really nice in the office too.

Gets pretty warm outside the city limits of San Diego in the summer.
We stay at Chula Vista RV Resort. Sites a little close but good atmosphere.
Have found so many campgrounds near metro areas are getting over run with folks living in them....... I guess the cost of living has made it this way. Especially in High cost areas like San Diego.
