We started in April when he retired, putting finishing touches on the house. The 4 sale sign was up the first week of Oct. That's when the stress set in..... We had an offer on the 7th day, which was 55,000 less than our asking price. We countered, they countered, no deal. Too bad for us. We should have taken their final offer.
The market kept sinking, so after 6 weeks we lowered our price by $30,000. We had two insult offers which we turned down. Folks are out fishing now. BTW there are a lot of people out there looking in our area. Our house was being shown 4-7 times a week most weeks. I was exhausted. Two other homes on our block, sold in the last 3 months.
Three weeks ago we dropped our price another 20,000. Now we are only 5,000 higher, than the first offer we turned down.
We got another offer just before Christmas, after going back and forth, we accepted. We went into escrow on Christmas Eve. Now it's more stress, our fingers are crossed and we are praying that nothing happens to make the deal fall through..The buyers are having their first child(children) triplets in May.
Another funny thing is, there was a thread about burying a St Joseph Statue in your yard for good luck. One day when our realtor stopped by with more flyers, I told her about the St Joseph thread. She went out to her car, got something out of a box and gave it to me. A St. Joseph statue.
I buried it just after Thanksgiving.
We have the deal, now we'll see if it closes.
One last thing. We are moving into our rv right now. If something happens and the house deal falls apart, we are still moving into the 5th wheel. The house can be shown empty. I'm sick of strangers in my house.

Crossed fingers here for you, and will keep you in our prayers

So that's 12 counting me too.

Let's all hope in this vast US that there are 12 people looking
to buy homes this year.

I'd get that For Sale Sign up now!!
Who knows what's going to happen to this market. I foolishly
'waited' to list mine and missed the top end of the curve,
and sadly I am sitting on the down curve of it now.

We did this also after our home had been on the market for ever! It sold in less than 2 weeks, so get to planting Just remember, you are supposed to give him a place of honor in your new home.
