We purchased Winnie December 16, 2011. Made our "maiden voyage" on January 7, 2012 to Mission Tejas State Park in Grapeland, Texas. We HIGHLY recommend this park for quietness. Check it out and TPWD.

Believe it or not- Newport News park!!! We love going there. 20 mins from home, woods, streams, lake, playgrounds and your campfires dont have to be confined to a tiny car wheel!

Might have to give that a try, I work at Ft Eustis & live in New Kent county, we usually go the other way though, towards the mountains.
Drive thru there one day...its right there in between Lee Hall and Ft Eustis exit. They have only one section open now for the winter, but its huge with all sections open. Good close spot.... We usually head the opposite way to the beach if we have a long weekend. Newport News is usually a quick spur of the moment trip....prob go at least a dozen times a year there
