so would you have to get the tip from Chevy or Jayco?

The purpose of the vents is to create a venturi effect so that the exhaust gases exiting the tip do not get dangerously hot and burn someone or the vehicle. If this tip is not on your rig, pray that it does not regenerate itself until you get it replaced. My biggest concern would be excessive heat melting or otherwise damaging your rv. And its gonna be a Chevy item.
