I posted the link so it would save me a lot of one finger typing. The Predator DX2 comes with a 7 year warranty. How does that compare to the others out there?

I just replaced my Prodigy with a Maxbrake. I have not towed with it yet, but I will give a update on its performance when I do.

Joe, that's a very good point.
If you're on a level road and you take your foot off the accelerator pedal, the rig will decelerate -- partly due to the rolling resistance and, to a greater extent, partly due to the aerodynamic drag on the TV and TT.
This means that if you release the accelerator pedal and lightly touch the brake pedal so the brake light is activated but with no significant TV braking force, an accelerometer-based controller will sense the friction/drag induced deceleration and will produce TT braking. A BrakeSmart (with the IBC turned off) would not produce any TT braking under these conditions.

Performed the above mentioned "experiment" this weekend while hauling my horses (7000# GN). Applying the brake pedal just enough to active the P3 at ~45 mph would result in 0.4 volt showing on the display.....interesting.
If the Prodigy/P3 had an adjustable Boost setting, i.e. user defined % as opposed to to 13%, 25%, and 25%, or maybe a constant (also user defined) voltage applied while brake light is lit........I wouldnt have a single complaint about it. Are you listening Tekonsha?

What disturbs me about this thread is that fairly early on someone mentioned that they paid $30000+ for their integrated controller from Ford, but they thru in a SuperDuty truck. I'm disturbed because I paid a good bit more than that and still just got a SuperDuty thrown in!

Well based on this discussion, I had decided I should probably buy the Brakesmart. However, when I went on their website, I was definitely not impressed. I wonder about the quality of the product when I see such a poorly put together site. I then sent them an e-mail asking them to clarify the brake disconnect feature and how I can purchase a unit. So far no reply. I am reconsidering the Hensley as I have delt with them in the past (T3 Hitch) and their service was outstanding.

Judging website construction vs. product construction cuts both ways, i.e. crummy web sites-excellent product; excellent web sites, crummy product. I'm here to tell you that the Brakesmart is a both a first class product and a user proven product. It requires essentially zero support.As far as contacting them, I haven't had any problems, either via email or phone. Then again, maybe they're having a bad hair day. They're allowed.

Barney, your reviews are very informative. Currently I have the Prodigy but wanted your opinion as to upgrading to the new P3. Altogether I am 20,100 pounds and have never gotten my trailer to lock up like the Prodigy instructions say. When I called Tech Service they say sometime they want. I have my setting at 8 and use a boost of 3. I just recently replaced my trailer electric brakes at just over 10,000 miles. What is your opinion --- should I stay with prodigy or move over to the P3.
