Saw one at the GSO show yesterday. I was really impressed and talked with the president and designer. Does anyone own one of these and if so what is your opinion on it? We looked at the 337RL.

Better yet; who Mfg's them? I stumbled across a couple on different dealers sites and can't figure out who's building them. Is there a website?

We too looked at the Open Range 5th wheel at the Greensboro show. It is very impressive looks and cost wise.. They are a new company and this appears to be their first offering. The question that I have is what did they do to pare the UVW down to 8580 lbs? That is very light for a trailer of its size. It is new and does not have a track record yet. I would not like to be the one involved with their R&D without a firm understanding of what to expect from them.

Either the cabinets are cardboard the frame is an 8" I beam. Most other brands same size would be 1-2000lbs heavier with a 10" I beam..

It would be interesting to look at one close up and see what is to be seen. Maybe there will be one at the Denver RV show.

Looked one over at Grand Rapids show today and thought that many ideas were gimmicks to draw attention. #1 gimmick was the grill that slides out of basement, #2 was the built in pin stabilizer, and #3 was the LCD TV that swings out of the basement. Just my opinion as I think they should have invested more into fit and finish quality as they are launching a new brand. Quality and value will build a long term company more than gimmicks. I'm not attempting to run down or degrade as I really did no more than a quick walk through, just my 1st impression. Randy

I saw one today at the Kansas City RV expo. It looked good, has gavanised roof trusses, and aluninum floor joists. The TV from the bedroom can mount in the lower compartment so you can watch tv outside. I saw the video they were playing, and it seems to be a well thought out, designed and built unit.
It is there first year of production, so the jury is still out on this one.

Well, I'm playing Guinea Pig. Just ordered the 337RLS unit from Novak RV here in Calgary. PDI is end of March.
I did as much research as possible on the company, personnel and product as was available at the time. Is it risky buying something that is "new" and not established in the marketplace? Yup but somebody has to go for it!
I spoke with Open Range's district sales manager very in-depth at the Calgary RV show in January. He and I went through the build from bow to stern and back. I can't foresee any "build shortcuts" that they have taken to reduce weight as much as they have taken on the role of using new technologies.
Yes it is lightweight, no it does not have cardboard cabinets ). There is a considerable weight-savings in the exterior materials and a biggie is using cable driven slides, not the typical rail style. Apparently this makes a huge difference +/- 1K lbs. overall.
There are some things like the LCD tv that can be mounted outside that might be a bit of a gimmick but hey...
Anyways, wish me luck!
