I am in the market for a TH and one of the models (there are a couple of others) I am considering is the WW SLC 3705. I called WW and the SLC 3705 has an option of being able to put a slide in the living area. I was wondering if anyone out there has one of these models with a slide and if you have had any trouble with it? They described the slide as having no floor so as to accomodate a sand buggy, as an example. I am having trouble picturing this in my mind as I have never seen one like this (without a floor) and if there are any problems with this? I am sure WW has engineered this correctly, but I am just curious if anyone has a slide and if it is working OK? Any problems?
They used to call them "Narrow Wide Slide" usually has a couch/sleeper built in to it. Correct it doesn't have a floor, just big enough to fit the couch and some lights.
We have a SLC 3905 with the "Wide Slide" in the living area. WW is correct, the slide doesn't have a floor, just the two side walls and the roof. The couch/bed when down closes the opening. When you open the slide with the couch up in transport position, there is an opening to the ground. It almost looks like a urinal! When you put the couch down, it closes this opening. When the slide is closed, there is no opening.
It's difficult to explain, but it works very well. We have a little chinese knock-off buggy and the slide works perfectly with it. We haven't had any issues with the slider mechanism.
I have the Wide Slide also, I have had no problems with it at all. It comes about 2.5" from my Polaris. The narrow slide does not have the 2 cabinets at the end of the couch, gives you about 2" more room.
Thank you for your help and information. For those who have the slide, are you glad you have it? Would you do it again? With no floor, do you feel there is enough insulation to keep things warm in cold weather? I plan on using the TH in cold weather (as well as warm weather) and would like to make sure it will be warm enough inside with the slide option. Also, for those who have the WW, are you happy with your TH? Any issues? I realize that all RV's have things that need to be fixed, etc. I am just curious as to your overall satisfaction? I don't think there are any issues with the insulation from either of the slides. In fact, since the couch/bed cousin covers the seams of the opening, it's probably the most insulated part of the coach.
I love our Warrior (SLC) and found it to be one of the most finished products on the market. We've only had ours out on one trip and only had minor issues. One of the issues being that we emptied 3 5 gallon propane tanks in a 5 days. I'm not sure if we have a leak, or other issues. I don't think that in general the WW is the best insulated coach for cold weather. There is a post on here where someone outlined their improvements insulating in cold weather. I'm planning on doing some of these mods myself. click here

In other words, could someone have access from the outside to your TH (from under the couch) when the slide is out? It sounds like the insulating questions can be improved with a few mods - thanks to The Follands for the information and link.
My only other concern now is that do I have enough truck? If I purchase a WW SLC 3705 with a 2nd slide, the weight might be an issue. Maybe I won't get the 2nd slide to save on weight. They say it adds 400lbs to the TH. I have a 2005 Ford F350 CC SB SRW truck. What do you think, anyone? It seems like some of the other TH's of this size are similar in weight if not more. No, there are pin slide locks on each side of the couch.
